Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.

Two elements are vital in preaching a sermon: the correct
blending of the sermon and the actual act of preaching. Gospel
sermons must be prepared to meet all the needs of humankind. We
should explain our sermons so that the audience could understand.
We should use strong verbs and short sentences.
To enjoy the fullness of God's blessings of protection,
deliverance, and security, the people of God need to digest divine
sermons. The sooner we understand that God is the one who has the
final authority over all, the better off we will be. Avoid wasting
a lot of energy worrying about things that are already under his
control. God is still at work.
Mankind should seek every opportunity to be converted. The term
"conversion" refers to the human response to the gospel. Conversion
requires the commitment of the total personality, intellect,
emotion, and will. This is how people respond to the message of the
gospel when they understand the nature of Christ's atonement. They
feel the guilt of conviction, love God, and surrender their wills
to the offer of salvation.
Satan's forces of darkness are highly structured for the most
destructive purposes. Therefore sermons with spiritual strength and
courage are needed for our spiritual warfare. If you want to win
the struggle against sin, depression, evil thoughts, immoral
behavior, and demonic bondage, then submit to divine sermons. If we
are not listening to divine sermons, we will drift off God's
pathway and be controlled by the old nature and its appetites.
The Abdus Salam Memorial Meeting was held from the 19th to the 22nd
of November, 1997 on the first anniversary of the death of Prof
Abdus Salam, Nobel laureate and Founder-Director of the
International Centre for Theoretical Physics. It was an opportunity
for many of his colleagues and students to pay homage to him.
This invaluable volume, comprising the papers presented at the
meeting, reflects the long-lasting passion of Prof Salam for the
theory of the fundamental forces. Most of the contributions are
concerned with recent developments in the theory of superstrings,
including duality, D-branes and related topics.
Regardless of culture, most adult humans report experiencing
similar feelings such as anger, fear, humor, and joy. Such
subjective emotional states, however, are not universal. Members of
some cultures deny experiencing specific emo tions such as fear or
grief. Moreover, within any culture, individuals differ widely in
their self-reports of both the variety and intensity of their
emotions. Some people report a vivid tapestry of positive and
negative emotional experi ences. Other people report that a single
emotion such as depression or fear totally dominates their
existences. Still others report flat and barren emotional lives.
Over the past 100 years, scientists have proposed numerous rival
explana tions of why such large individual differences in emotions
occur. Various authors have offered anthropological, biochemical,
ethological, neurological, psycholog ical, and sociological models
of human emotions. Indeed, the sheer number of competing theories
precludes a comprehensive review in a single volume. Ac cordingly,
only a representative sample of models are discussed in this book,
and many equally important theories have been omitted. These
omissions were not intended to prejudice the reader in favor of any
particular conceptual frame work. Rather, this selective coverage
was intended to focus attention upon the empirical findings that
contemporary theories attempt to explain."
