Faith was not only the theme of Soren Kierkegaard's life, but also
the systematic center of his thought. The studies collected in this
volume represent an attempt to understand Kierkegaard's theory of
faith from different perspectives and on different levels of
analysis. Not only will the central aspects and fundamental
challenges of his theory be illuminated, the development of his
theory of faith, which is marked by a wide array of educational and
discursive contexts, will also be investigated against the
background of his engagement with the philosophical-theological
debates of his time and close involvement with other thinkers in
his immediate environment. The volume concludes with a glance at
the history of the translation and reception of Kierkegaard's work.
Since the Kierkegaard Studies Monograph Series (KSMS) was first
published in 1997, it has served as the authoritative book series
in the field. Starting from 2011 the Kierkegaard Studies Monograph
Series will intensify the peer-review process with a new editorial
and advisory board. KSMS is published on behalf of the Soren
Kierkegaard Research Centre at the University of Copenhagen. KSMS
publishes outstanding monographs in all fields of Kierkegaard
research. This includes Ph.D. dissertations, Habilitation theses,
conference proceedings and single author works by senior scholars.
The goal of KSMS is to advance Kierkegaard studies by encouraging
top-level scholarship in the field. The editorial and advisory
boards are deeply committed to creating a genuinely international
forum for publication which integrates the many different
traditions of Kierkegaard studies and brings them into a
constructive and fruitful dialogue. To this end the series
publishes monographs in English and German. Potential authors
should consult the Submission guidelines. All submissions will be
blindly refereed by established scholars in the field. Only
high-quality manuscripts will be accepted for publication.
Potential authors should be prepared to make changes to their texts
based on the comments received by the referees.

This is the third in the comprehensive ten-volume Germany and the Second World War. The five volumes so far published in German take the story to the end of 1941, and have achieved international acclaim as a major contribution to historical study. Under the auspices of the Militargeschichtliches Forschungsamt (Research Institute for Military History), a team of renowned historians has combined a full synthesis of existing material with the latest research to produce what will be the definitive history of the Second World War.
This book is the first anthology of writings to be devoted to
Icelandic theologian and religious writer Magnus Eiriksson
(180681). A contemporary of Kierkegaard, Eiriksson made a name (and
enemies) for himself by being an outspoken advocate of tolerance
and freedom of thought and conscience in matters of religion. This
book aims to resurrect Eirikssons thought for a new era, with
contributions covering the key topics of his writings and offering
insight into his historical and cultural background. By explaining
Eirikssons frequent disagreements with his contemporaries --
including Kierkegaard -- the contributors shed light on the period
as a whole and offer a new perspective on religious thought in the
Danish Golden Age.
Molecular and Cell Biology of the Liver features the latest
research findings regarding liver structure and function. A unique
feature of the book is the brief science reviews that are included
in each chapter which provide essential background information to
allow readers to better grasp the subject matter within a chapter.
The book covers liver biology from the molecular level to groups of
liver cells and explains how groups of hepatocytes interact in
similar microenvironments. Other important cell types found in the
liver are also examined. Illustrations ranging from electron
micrographs to fully rendered drawings act as visual aids to help
readers understand complex structural-functional interactions.
Molecular and Cell Biology of the Liver will benefit hepatologists,
gastroenterologists, cell biologists, anatomists, toxicologists,
and other researchers interested in liver structure and function.
