In this curated collection of art and photography from his personal
archive, Graham Nash's life as a musician and artist unfolds in
vivid detail. Best known as a founding member of the Hollies and
supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash, Nash developed a love of
photography from the time he was a child. Inspired by his father,
Nash began taking pictures at 11 years old and would go on to take
his camera with him ever since--on tour with the Hollies and later
CSN, among friends at Laurel Canyon and abroad. Many of his
photographs depict intimate moments with family and friends, among
them Joni Mitchell, Stephen Stills, and Neil Young. Nash's playful
and observant eye would lead him to capture quiet moments
backstage, landscapes, still lifes, and street photography, and
also create poignant paintings and collages. This volume presents
these images alongside Nash's own reflections, telling the story
behind the pictures and giving insight into the life of one of the
greatest musicians of all time.
From Graham Nash--the legendary musician and founding member of
the iconic bands Crosby, Stills & Nash and The Hollies--comes a
candid and riveting autobiography that belongs on the reading list
of every classic rock fan.
Graham Nash's songs defined a generation and helped shape the
history of rock and roll--he's written over 200 songs, including
such classic hits as "Carrie Anne," "On A Carousel," "Simple Man,"
"Our House," "Marrakesh Express," and "Teach Your Children." From
the opening salvos of the British Rock Revolution to the last
shudders of Woodstock, he has rocked and rolled wherever music
mattered. Now Graham is ready to tell his story: his lower-class
childhood in post-war England, his early days in the British
Invasion group The Hollies; becoming the lover and muse of Joni
Mitchell during the halcyon years, when both produced their most
introspective and important work; meeting Stephen Stills and David
Crosby and reaching superstardom with Crosby, Stills, Nash &
Young; and his enduring career as a solo musician and political
activist. Nash has valuable insights into a world and time many
think they know from the outside but few have experienced at its
epicenter, and equally wonderful anecdotes about the people around
him: the Beatles, the Stones, Hendrix, Cass Elliot, Dylan, and
other rock luminaries. From London to Laurel Canyon and beyond,
"Wild Tales" is a revealing look back at an extraordinary
life--with all the highs and the lows; the love, the sex, and the
jealousy; the politics; the drugs; the insanity--and the sanity--of
a magical era of music.

Wild Tales by Graham Nash - a classic rock memoir of the legendary
Hollies front man and member of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young In
this candid and riveting autobiography Graham Nash tells it all:
the love, the sex, the jealousy, the drugs, and the magical
music-making. This is one of the great rock and roll stories:
growing up in poverty in postwar Manchester, where Nash founded the
Hollies with schoolfriend Allan Clarke and the incredible success
that followed, friendships with all the great British bands of the
60s including the Beatles, the Stones and the Kinks, decamping to
America and becoming the lover of Joni Mitchell (for whom he wrote
'Our House') and achieving superstardom with David Crosby, Stephen
Stills and Neil Young. This book will be adored by Graham Nash fans
and takes its rightful place in the pantheon of classic music
memoirs alongside Book Dylan's Chronicles, Keith Richards' Life and
Neil Young's Waging Heavy Peace. Graham Nash was born in Blackpool
in 1942 and brought up in Salford. He was cofounder with his
schoolfriend Allan Clarke of the Hollies - one of the most
successful British pop groups of the 1960s for whom he was
lead-singer and one of the principal songwriters. In 1968 he left
the UK to live in California, where he became part of the
supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash (later, after Neil Young
joined, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young). Unusually he has been
inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, for the Hollies
and for CSNY, and in 2010 he received the OBE. He is noted for his
political and charity work (he played Occupy Wall Street in 2011),
is a serious photographer, and has homes in California and Hawaii.
