A toolbox may be one of the most practical items ever invented by
man. It holds many different types of tools that are essential for
different functions and yet, here they are, all in one container.
But, a pliers cannot drive a nail into a board any more than a
hammer can cut a board. Each tool must be used for the task for
which it was designed and cared for so that it will last a long
time. Greg May first learned about tools from his grandfather and
father. He learned how to use each tool correctly and to do each
job to the best of his ability. Jesus was a carpenter. He learned
about tools from his earthly father. He also learned to use tools
in making disciples from His Heavenly Father. Greg May has been
listening to Jesus for many years talk to him about tools and
disciples and now he shares those lessons with others.
"Not Your Everyday Devotional for Every Day" says author, Greg May.
A self-proclaimed fisherman and forgiven sinner, Greg has spent
many years leading and discipling through his real and
unpretentious example. Greg May's love for fishing, family, and
gatherings of people has led him to create The Fishin' Hole in his
garage where Bible study, big-screen sports events, and
celebrations welcome Christian believers and non-believers alike.
And now in Crewed Awakening, Greg shares what he is learning in his
own personal time with the Jesus. "I love family. I like fishing. I
try to follow Jesus. I mess up some. But He has enough grace, mercy
and love to cover my mess. Now that's my kind of God "
Setting off from the ghost town of Cloverdale, New Mexico on March
17, 1996, the author picked his way north for seven months until
arriving at the ghost town of Almota, Washington near his home on
the Snake River. He travelled in the same simple manner as the
mountain men of yore, and introduces the reader to the fiber of the
differing backcountry cultures through the spirits of those he
meets along the journey, as well as the life stories of the ghost
towns he stumbles upon. He gracefully shares his fears and
struggles as he solves the challenges presented by nature, people
and the modern world from the saddle.
