For most children, reading the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm is
an essential experience; but when these stories were first
collected, fairy tales were considered entertainment for adults as
well. This edition of Grimm’s Fairy Tales brings together the
best-known fairy and folk tales set down by the Brothers Grimm,
including “Sleeping Beauty,” “Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Hansel and Gretel,”
“The Frog-Prince,” and “Rumpelstiltskin,” in a package
aimed at readers returning to the beloved stories of their
youth.
From the land of fantastical castles, vast lakes and deep forests,
the Brothers Grimm collected a treasury of enchanting folk and
fairy stories full of giants and dwarfs, witches and princesses,
magical beasts and cunning children. From classics such as 'The
Frog-Prince' and 'Hansel and Grettel' to the delights of
'Ashputtel' or 'Old Sultan', all hold a timeless magic which has
enthralled children for centuries.

With the words "Once upon a time," the Brothers Grimm transport
readers to a timeless realm where witches, giants, princesses,
kings, fairies, goblins, and wizards fall in love, try to get rich,
quarrel with their neighbors, and have magical adventures of all
kinds-and in the process reveal essential truths about human
nature.
When Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm set out to collect stories in the
early 1800s, their goal was not to entertain children but to
preserve Germanic folklore-and the hard life of European peasants
was reflected in the tales theydiscovered. However, once the
brothers saw how the stories entranced young readers, they began
softening some of the harsher aspects to make them more suitable
for children.
A cornerstone of Western culture since the early 1800s, "Grimm's
Fairy Tales" is now beloved the world over. This collection of more
than 120 of the Grimms' best tales includes such classics as
"Cinderella," "Snow White," "Hansel and Grethel," "Rapunzel,"
"Rumpelstiltskin," "Little Red Riding Hood," and "The Frog Prince,"
as well as others that are no less delightful.
Elizabeth Dalton is Professor of English and Comparative Literature
at Barnard College. She has published fiction and criticism in "The
New Yorker," "Partisan Review," "Commentary," and "The New York
Times Book Review,"
This title is suitable for children aged 7 to 9 years old. Once
upon a time, there were two brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, who
gave the world some of the best-loved fairy tales ever written.

Brave Little Tailor", this charming anthology offers young readers

Historical Sketch of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer.
Rules and Constitutions of the Congregation of the Most Holy
Redeemer. Instructions about the Religious State. Lives of two
Fathers and of a Lay Brother, C.SS.R. Discourses on Calamities.
Reflections useful for Bishops. Rules for Seminaries. THIS volume
contains various little works which, with the exception of the
Letters to be published subsequently in five volumes, complete the
collection of the ascetical works. Before giving these little
works, we have thought it well to add briefly an historical sketch
of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer as it now exists.
This volume comprises all that which in the writings of St.
Alphonsus has reference to the Congregation of the Most Holy
Redeemer which he founded, regarded principally as a religious
Institute. It will be particularly useful to those in the world who
feel themselves called to the religious state. and who are desirous
to become. fully acquainted with the Institute for the purpose of
examining their vocation. We at first give the CONSTITUTIONS AND
RULES OF THE CONGREGATION OF THE MOST HOLY REDEEMER. Then follow
the COUNSELS CONCERNING A RELIGIOUS VOCATION AND CONSIDERATIONS FOR
PERSONS CALLED TO THE RELIGIOUS STATE; which the holy Founder
addresses to aspirants. and to all those that wish to know and to
follow the road on which divine Providence invites them to walk in
order to sanctify themselves and to save their souls. This part is
followed by the EXHORTATIONS TO NOVICES. To fortify them in their
holy resolutions, and to warn them against the snares of the enemy
of salvation. Then follow biographical sketches of two Fathers and
a laybrother. whose portraits the holy Founder delineates with his
own hand. and whom, it seems, he wishes to hold up as models to all
the rest. Then comes a SERMON ON THE ROSARY, followed by a SERMON
ON THE PASSION; NINE DISCOURSES FOR THE TIMES OF CALAMITIES;
REFLECTIONS USEFUL TQ BISHOPS TO GOVERN WELL THEIR CHURCHES; AND
RULES FOR SEMINARIES.
