In 'The Emperor and the White Snake' (2011) young physician Xu Xian (Raymond Lam) falls in love with a beautiful woman when she saves him from drowning. However, unbeknownst to him she is in fact Madame White Snake (Shengyi Huang), a thousand-year-old snake demon appearing in the guise of a woman to try and avoid Fa Hai (Li), a sorcerer who intends to destroy her.
