Falls, fractures, frailty, osteoporosis and sarcopenia are highly prevalent in older persons. While the concept of osteosarcopenia is new, it is a rapidly evolving and cross-disciplinary problem. Prevention and treatment are challenging and a combined therapeutic approach is needed. Osteosarcopenia provides evidence-based information on how to prevent and treat these conditions at multiple settings, including multiple illustrations, care pathways and tips to easily understand the pathophysiology, diagnostic methods and therapeutic approach to these conditions. This work evaluates the potential for a link between osteoporosis, sarcopenia and obesity.
The book summarizes recent advances in the elucidation of the mechanisms involved in senile osteoporosis as well as its potential treatment, bringing an integrated approach from the bench to the clinical practice. A unique aspect of this book is its emphasis on the application of translational research in the field of osteoporosis and falls which make it useful not only to biologists but also to clinicians and epidemiologists. The chapters are complemented with color figures showing the basics of bone biology, bone phenotypes and falls prevention interventions and also include tables and flowcharts. Written by investigators (clinicians and basic scientists) in the field of aging bone research, this is a reference guide to geriatricians, gerontologists, endocrinologists, rheumatologists and bone biologists, medical trainees as well as other health professionals (pharmacists, physiotherapists, etc).

You are on the edge. You want to make that big decision but... you always fail to do so. For some reason you hit a wall, get frustrated. You can almost touch it with the tip of your fingers, yet don't manage to give that necessary step. You feel desperate and confused, you know what to do and even how to do but somehow to remain still, unmoved, paralysed... petrified. You are not alone, this happens to you and all entrepreneurs. That is why i have written, along with a colleague of mine, Gustavo Duque, Afraid of Success, a book about how what you want the most, actually prevents you from getting it in the first place. Get now, study it and rip the benefits. P.S. But there is a catch: If you don't any sort of action, you have wasted your time. Go to www.noelcardona.com/notafraid if you need more convincing.
