Mit der modernen sonographischen Technologie ist die Dar- stellung selbst kleiner Areale 1p. it anomaler Echostruktur mog- lich geworden. Diese sonographisch erkennbaren Veranderun- gen entsprechen pathologisch-anatomischen Befunden, die hau- fig nicht aus dem Echomuster allein diagnostizierbar sind. Es besteht daher ein wachsender Bedarf an einer erganzenden Methode, die mit groBer Genauigkeit und praktisch ohne Risiko durchzufuhren ist. Diese Kriterien werden von der sonogra- phisch kontrollierten perkutanen Punktion erfullt. Aber nicht nur in der Diagnostik, sondern auch in der Therapie hat sich dieses Verfahren als sehr wertvoll erwiesen. Die erste perkutane, sonographisch kontrollierte Punktion mit einem speziellen Transducer wurde im Ultraschallabor des Gentofte Hospitals Kopenhagen - jetzt Herlev Hospital-1969 durchgefiihrt. Zugrunde lag eine Idee von Kratochwil, der einen Punk- tionsschallkopf zur Punktion mit dem sonographischen A-Ver- fahren beschrieb und benutzte. Die Entwicklung auf dem Gebiet der interventionellen Sono- graphie fiihrte zur ersten internationalen Konferenz uber sono- graphisch kontrollierte Punktionen, die 1978 im Herlev Hospital stattfand und von der Danischen Gesellschaft fur diagnostischen Ultraschall gesponsort wurde. Die Erfahrungen dieser Konfe- renz wurden 1980 in dem Buch "Ultrasonically Guided Puncture Technique" zusammengefaBt. 1980 und 1983 fanden im Herlev Hospital zwei weitere Kongresse uber die sonograpisch gezieite Punktionstechnik statt. Der 1983 durchgefiihrte, dritte inter- lieB die nationale KongreB uber interventionelle Sonographie eindrucksvolle Expansion dieses Gebietes erkennen. Dabei stand an erster Stelle die zunehmende Erfahrung mit der klini- schen Anwendung dieses Verfahrens, die fur die Indikations- stellung und die Erorterung der moglichen Komplikationen von Bedeutung ist.
