Das vorliegende Gutachten tragt der Entwicklung der wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnis und den Erfahrungen Rechnung, die bei der praktischen Anwendung inaktivierter Kinderlahmungsimpfstoffe in der Zeit vom Winter 1955 bis Ende 1957 gesammelt worden sind. Wie das am 28. Januar 1956 vorgelegte Gutachten des Bundesgesundheitsamtes gliedert es sich in zwei Hauptteile, das Hauptgutachtcn und die wisscnschaftlichcn Abhandlungcn. In dem Hauptgutachten sind die wesent- lichen Ergebnisse der wissenschaftlichen Literatur sowie eigener experimenteller Arbeiten und sonstiger wissenschaftlicher Untersuchungen niedergelegt.
