Die Beitrage des vorliegenden Bandes aus der Reihe Suchtmedizin basieren auf langjahrigen Erfahrungen von AErzten, Psychologen und Sozialarbeitern in der Behandlung Abhangiger. Die multiprofessionale Ausrichtung macht deutlich, dass eine zeitgemasse Behandlung nicht ohne den Wissensaustausch verschiedener Professionen moeglich ist. Ein wichtiger Schritt zur Sensibilisierung fur diese Thematik im arztlichen Bereich wurde durch die Bundesarztekammer vollzogen, die ein Curriculum Suchtmedizinische Versorung etablierte und somit die Fachkunde auf diesem Gebiet empfahl. Somit wird der Erkenntnis Rechnung getragen, dass ein grosser Teil der Betroffenen Kontakt zu AErzten hat, hier aber oft die mangelhafte arztliche Ausbildung oder allgemein kommunikative Probleme eine aktive Bearbeitung der Problematik erschwert. Der vorliegende Band stellt eine praxisnahe Betrachtung dieser Schwierigkeiten in den Vordergrund und zeigt Loesungsmoeglichkeiten auf.
