Miss Seeton accused! The kindly Miss Seeton? A thief? A
preposterous notion - until the lovable spinster mistakes tomato
ketchup for blood . . . and the "wounded" man she's trying to help
is robbed by a pickpocket. In a flurry of confusion, Mis Seeton is
accused of being the thief's accomplice! And in the hands of the
London police, our unlikely jailbird uncovers a veritable nest of
crime . . . Serene amidst every kind of skullduggery, this
eccentric English spinster steps in where Scotland Yard stumbles,
armed with nothing more than her sketchpad and umbrella! What

mysteries." "Miss Seeton is a delightful sendup of the amateur

From her discovery of an aristocratic infant abandoned in a village
telephone booth, to dark doings amongst Scottish banks and braes,
it's a rollercoaster ride for Miss Seeton in this adventure with a
tartan touch. Grateful parents Lord and Lady Glenclachan sweep Miss
S. northward to MacSporran Castle, their ancestral home, where, as
her admiring reporter pal Amelita Forby (scenting a story and hot
on her trail) puts it, 'Battling Brolly Finds Corpse Near Crag' -
not to mention tangling with Jacobites and searching for a fabled
gold mine. As usual, the retired art teacher's inner eye sees to
the essence of this heady Highland brew. Serene amidst every kind
of skulduggery, this eccentric English spinster steps in where
Scotland Yard stumbles, armed with nothing more than her sketchpad
and umbrella!
The year is 1940 and the British have their backs to the wall.
Everyone is preparing for the battle that, as Winston Churchill
said, would see the "whole fury and might of the enemy turned upon
us." Everyone including the young Miss Emily Seeton, London art
teacher, who finds her strangely prophetic sketches do not go
unnoticed by the secret services. At first suspected of being a
fifth columnist, she soon finds herself recruited by the dashing
Major Gerry Haynes and sent to carry out a very special observance
task at a rural Spitfire factory. Faced with bombs, sabotage and
murder, Miss Seeton must summon all her courage - it is after all
her nature to Keep Calm and Carry On! What people are saying about

It's summertime in Plummergen and cricket madness has overtaken
Miss Emily Seeton's pretty village. The pavilion urgently needs
repairs, but there's a needle match coming up against arch rivals
Murreystone. Miss S's chums Sir George Colveston and his son Nigel
talk of little else, especially as the opposition's demon bowler
wrought havoc at last year's game, while their own star, the
village blacksmith, has a broken arm after a dispute with a
mysteriously tipsy Shire horse. Miss S's artistic talents are
required to sketch the players and raise money for the pavilion -
she knows little of cricket, but her uncanny depictions point the
way to a burglarious gang who've been robbing local villages.
Serene amidst every kind of skulduggery, this eccentric English
spinster steps in where Scotland Yard stumbles, armed with nothing
more than her sketchpad and umbrella!
Miss Seeton returns! - a new original (the first in almost 20
years) for this classic series of humorous cosy mysteries created
by Heron Carvic. It's practically a Royal Marriage! The highly
eligible son of Miss Seeton's old friends Sir George and Lady
Colveden has wed the daughter of a French count. Miss Seeton lends
her talents to the village scheme to create a quilted 'Bayeux
Tapestry' of local history, inspired by the wedding. But her
intuitive sketches reveal a startlingly different perspective -
involving buried Nazi secrets, and links to the mysterious death of
a diplomat and to a South American dictator . . . Serene amidst
every kind of skulduggery, this eccentric English spinster steps in
where Scotland Yard stumbles, armed with nothing more than her

Have the smugglers made a grave mistake? Customs & Excise are
tracking a gang of cigar-smugglers who operate on the quiet Kent
coast near Plummergen, home to retired art teacher Miss Emily
Seeton. Their attempt at a midnight ambush goes wrong, and a man is
found dead. As Miss Seeton sketches the most notorious tomb in
Plummergen churchyard - the one built for 19th-century smuggler
Abraham Voller - she meets a young American tourist. He claims to
be a descendant of the Voller family, but is he a truly innocent
ancestor-hunter, or do smugglers inherit their trade? When the
school concert includes a performance of Kipling's "A Smuggler's
Song" it begins to seem that everyone is at it ... but we can rely
on Miss Seeton to ensure that the police will get their man, and
the smugglers' dreams will go up in smoke! Serene amidst every kind
of skulduggery, this eccentric English spinster steps in where
Scotland Yard stumbles, armed with nothing more than her sketchpad
and umbrella. What people are saying about Miss Seeton: "What a joy

How do you catch an art thief? With artistic bait, of course. And
who else but the talented Miss Seeton would provide a painting for
Scotland Yard, hoping it will get stolen? Before the trap is
sprung, a second thief strikes . . . in one of England's most
stately homes. Now Miss Seeton - incognito - is off to the scene to
draw her own conclusions . . . Serene amidst every kind of
skullduggery, this eccentric English spinster steps in where
Scotland Yard stumbles, armed with nothing more than her sketchpad
and umbrella!
'Ibbley, obbley, onker, my first conker!' The ancient warcry of
English conker battles heralds autumn in the Kentish countryside,
where Plummergen, Miss Seeton's home village, and its great rival
Murreystone, are holding their Produce Show and - this year -
impromptu fisticuffs! Plus it's Trafalgar Day, and at Admiral
Buzzard's 'gin pennant' party for local ex-officers there's another
near punch-up. Altogether a riveting backdrop for the presenters of
a popular TV cookery show, visiting in search of rare heritage
apples like the Plummergen Peculier. Only the police have time to
notice the worsening local crime wave - antique shops ramraided,
homes robbed, then a life lost - until Miss Seeton is coaxed into
playing a core role. Serene amidst every kind of skullduggery, this
eccentric English spinster steps in where Scotland Yard stumbles,
armed with nothing more than her sketchpad and umbrella!
Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat - and all over
England rehearsals are getting underway for the much-loved seasonal
panto. In Miss Emily Seeton's home village of Plummergen, Lady
Colveden is directing an uproarious production of Cinderella, and
Miss S is delighted to be offered a backstage role as set designer.
Then while walking in Rytham Hall woods in search of mistletoe, a
typical accident with her umbrella results in a wonderful
archaeological discovery - soon followed by the less happy
discovery of a dead body. The solutions to the murder and to a
series of local bank heists are only revealed when the show
actually goes on - and naturally it's the "Battling Brolly" who
ends up in the spotlight. Serene amidst every kind of skulduggery,
this eccentric English spinster steps in where Scotland Yard
stumbles, armed with nothing more than her sketchpad and umbrella!
Every year when the harvest moon shines, families of noisy Cockney
hop-pickers descend on the bountiful countryside near the village
of Plummergen, home to Miss Emily Seeton, artist and Scotland Yard
aide extraordinaire. But the holiday jollity brings no cheer for
local police Superintendent Brinton, who is all too aware it's a
whole year since the gruesome "Blonde in the Bag" murder, and they
are still no nearer a solution. Will Miss S be asked to set aside
her newfound hobby of gardening and lend a hand? And where in her
strange sketches of the Last Night of the Proms are the clues that
might identify a brutal killer? Serene amidst every kind of
skulduggery, this eccentric English spinster steps in where
Scotland Yard stumbles, armed with nothing more than her sketchpad
and umbrella!
