With the methodology of eye-tracking experiments, in-depth
interviews, and large-scale questionnaires across cities, this book
provides a panoramic vision of digital reading and social
interaction among the new generations in China. Growing up under
the background of social transformation, cultural integration, and
technological progress, digital reading of the Chinese net
generation presents complex characteristics. People born in the
1980s and 90s are better educated, have democratic consciousness,
and have strong motivations for self-expression. Meanwhile, reading
behaviours affect their content production, virtual identities, and
socialization in the real world. The immense need for digital
content fuels the digital reading industries. Internet literature,
social media articles, reading apps, and e-reader devices have also
benefited from media content and interface innovation in the
market. This book provides a solid scientific foundation for
reading promotion and guiding strategies in the context of digital
media and offers empirical evidence for policy formulation of
reading promotion and spiritual civilization in the digital age.
The authors expand the perspective of communication studies on
digital reading and analyze how the youth reads on digital devices
and creates content for interest or profit. The book will be a
great read for students and scholars of mass communication, media
studies, and digital publishing.
In this book, the author seeks to understand China's urban
redevelopment from the theoretical perspective of the local
entrepreneurial state. China's rapid socio-economic transformations
since 1978 have been in large part attributed to China's state
transformations. The author closely investigates Ningbo's two
downtown redevelopment projects by conducting ethnographic
fieldwork and documentary research. It is found that the local
entrepreneurial state deploys local state enterprises to undertake
strategic urban redevelopment projects, organizes high-profile
city/district marketing campaigns in entrepreneurial manners, and
develops corporatist intermediations with local business owners for
collaborative urban governance. Yet the local entrepreneurial state
is multi-layered, with the municipal and district authorities
sometimes disagreeing, conflicting, and bargaining with each other.
Meanwhile, the relationship between spaces and their users, as well
as that between various space users, constantly changes. All these
players and their interactions constitute "spatial politics", or
the story of conflicts, struggles, negotiations, and collaborations
in urban governance. This work, based on six months of fieldwork,
will appeal to scholars in the social sciences and experts in Asian
Studies.
Black phosphorus (BP)-based two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials are
used as components in practical industrial applications in
biomedicine, electronics, and photonics. There is a need to
controllably shape engineered scalable structures of 2D BP building
blocks, and their assembly/organization is desired for the
formation of three-dimensional (3D) forms such as macro and hybrid
architectures, as it is expected that these architectures will
deliver even better materials performance in applications.
Semiconducting Black Phosphorus: From 2D Nanomaterial to Emerging
3D Architecture provides an overview of the various synthetic
strategies for 2D BP single-layer nanomaterials, their scalable
synthesis, properties, and assemblies into 3D architecture. The
book covers defect engineering and physical properties of black
phosphorous; describes different strategies for the development of
2D nanostructures of BP with other species such as polymers,
organic molecules, and other inorganic materials; offers a
comparative study of 3D BP structures with other 3D architectures
such as dichalcogenides (TMDs, graphene, and boron nitride); and
discusses in detail applications of 3D macrostructures of BP in
various fields such as energy, biomedical, and catalysis. This is
an essential reference for researchers and advanced students in
materials science and chemical, optoelectronic, and electrical
engineering.

This book constitutes revised selected papers from the 17th
Workshop on e-Business, WeB 2018, which took place in Santa Clara,
CA, USA, in December 2018. The purpose of WeB is to provide an open
forum for e-Business researchers and practitioners world-wide, to
share topical research findings, explore novel ideas, discuss
success stories and lessons learned, map out major challenges, and
collectively chart future directions for e-Business. The WeB 2018
theme was "The Ecosystem of e-Business: Technologies, Stakeholders,
and Connections." There was a total of 47 submissions and 41 papers
were presented at the conference. Of these, 19 revised papers are
presented in this volume. These contributions are organized in the
following topical sections: social, policy, and privacy issues;
e-market; FinTech; and artificial intelligence.

This book constitutes revised selected papers from the 15th
Workshop on e-Business, WeB 2016, held in conjunction with the
International Conference on Information Systems, ICIS, in Dublin,
Ireland, in December 2016. WeB 2016 provided a forum for scholars
to exchange ideas and share results from their research. Original
articles addressing a broad coverage of technical, managerial,
economic, and strategic issues related to consumers, businesses,
industries, and governments were presented at the workshop,
employing various IS research methods such as case study, survey,
analytical modeling, experiments, computational models, and design
science. The 15 full and 8 short papers presented in this volume
were carefully reviewed and selected from 46 submissions. They deal
with the "Internetworked World" focusing on digitalization,
consumerization, global platforms, and transformative innovations
in industry.
Digital media is changing the ways in which religion is practiced,
understood, proselytised and countered. Religious institutions and
leaders use digital media to engage with their congregations who
now are not confined to single locations and physical structures.
The faithful are part of online communities which allow them a
space to worship and to find fellowship. Migrant and mobile
subjects thus are able to be connected to their faith -- whether
home grown or emerging -- wherever they may be, providing them with
an anchor in unfamiliar physical and cultural surroundings. As Asia
rises, mobilities associated with Asian populations have escalated.
The notion of 'Global Asia' is a reflection of this increased
mobility, where Asia includes not only Asian countries as sites of
political independence, but also the transnational networks of
Asian trans/migrants, and the diasporic settlements of Asian
peoples all over the world. This collection features cutting edge
research by scholars across disciplines seeking to understand the
role and significance of religion among transnational mobile
subjects in this age of digital media, and in particular, as
experienced in Global Asia.
Understanding the mechanism of the high-temperature superconductors
has been a very important topic in condensed matter physics.
Researchers have been trying to explain the role of electron-phonon
interaction (EPI) in cuprates. Some important properties of the
cuprates could not be explained by conventional BCS theory. This
book contains the experimental and theoretical studies on the EPI.
The experimental part covers the results of angle-resolved
photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), isotopic effect, elastic
neutron scattering study of electron-phonon, lattice role and so
on. The theoretical part covers the electron-phonon, polaron and
bipolaron, effect of lattice, fine structure in the tunnelling
spectra of electron-doped cuprates, identification of the bulk
pairing symmetry in high-temperature superconductors.Students and
researchers interested in high-temperature superconductors,
especially the EPI in cuprates will find this title very useful.
