Eine eigens hierfur in einem begleitenden Forschungsprojekt entwickelte Systematik von Kriterien eignet sich einerseits dazu, Gebaude zu vergleichen und zu bewerten. Denn die meisten bestehenden Nachhaltigkeitssysteme verstehen sich nicht als Entwurfs- und Planungswerkzeuge, sondern als Bewertungsinstrumente fur fertige Gebaude und abgeschlossene Planungen. 15 Praxisbeispiele verdeutlichen, wie sich Kriterien und Aspekte des Nachhaltigen Bauens in anspruchsvolle Architektur umsetzen lassen und wie diese zugleich erlebbar werden. Die aus der Analyse der Beispiele entwickelte Systematik wird zur Einordnung und zum Vergleich der Gebaude eingesetzt.
