In der Versorgung von Patienten mit einer chronischen korperlichen Erkrankung wird die Halfte der Patienten mit einer komorbiden psychischen Storung nicht erkannt und wiederum die Halfte der erkannten Storungen nicht adaquat behandelt. Die negativen Effekte einer solchen Komorbiditat: Erhohtes Mortalitatsrisiko, steigende Gesundheitskosten, sinkende Lebensqualitat der Patienten.
