Sci-fi action. Early in the 21st century, billionaire Charles
Weyland (Lance Hendriksen) is convinced that his satellite thermal
imaging system has picked up evidence of an ancient life form
buried under the ice in remotest Antarctica. When a team of
archaeologists sets out to investigate, they find more than they
had bargained for: the ancient pyramid temple they discover
contains evidence that the alien life form it contained could still
be in existence. They then find out from studying the hieroglyphics
in the temple that an even greater threat is hanging over them: a
group of Predators - the feared intergalactic hunters - are on
their way to earth to take part in a rite-of-passage battle with
the aliens that could lay waste to the human race...

Mega-budget, special-effects packed action adventure sci-fi epic
directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, Stargate), in which
global warming and the greenhouse effect have given rise to abrupt
climate change - with cataclysmic consequences for the entire
planet. Dennis Quaid stars as Professor Adrian Hall, a
paleoclimatologist who is fighting to save the world from a second
ice age and all the natural disasters that herald it: floods,
hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes to name but a few. But first,
Hall must complete a more personal mission: his son Sam (Jake
Gyllenhaal) is stranded in New York City where he was taking part
in a school competition when the catastrophe began. As well as
facing a perpetual onslaught of natural catastrophes, Hall must
fight his way through the mass of humanity fleeing south into
warmer climes... but can he reach his son in time to save him?

Sci-fi action sequel starring Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldbum and Bill
Pullman. Two decades after the alien attack on planet Earth, the
world has pooled together to form Earth Space Defence (ESD), a
global organisation designed to protect the planet from any further
attacks. With ESD personnel stationed on Earth, the Moon and Mars,
they have spent the last 20 years developing technology that was
salvaged from the previous attack. Before their defeat, however,
the aliens sent a distress signal back to their planet asking for
assistance in the form of a more powerful army. When the aliens
receive the message they prepare for attack, and this time they are
taking no chances.
Double bill of sci-fi action adventures from director Roland
Emmerich. In 'Independence Day' (1996), massive spaceships are
spotted hovering above planet Earth and the world stands watching
in awe and wonder. This amazement, however, soon turns to terror as
the aliens launch an all-out attack, devastating the planet's major
cities. As the Earth's survivors try to come to terms with what has
happened, a group of Americans including President Thomas J.
Whitmore (Bill Pullman), fighter pilot Steve Hiller (Will Smith)
and computer boffin David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum) decide to fight
back. In the sequel, 'Independence Day: Resurgence' (2016), two
decades have passed since the alien invasion and the world has
pooled together to form Earth Space Defence (ESD), a global
organisation designed to protect the planet from any further
Double bill of adventure features set during the Crusades.
'Crusaders - The Fall of Jerusalem' (2001) follows three friends -
bell founder Peter (Alessandro Gassman), baron's son Richard
(Johannes Brandrup) and peasant farmer Andrew (Thure Riefenstein) -
as they set out to join the Crusades and to play their part in the
liberation of Jerusalem. 'Crusaders 2' (2001) concludes the story
of the three young friends from the Italian town of Aurocastro.
Will their ideals be tempered by the reality of the violence that
surrounds them on all sides as they battle against the eleventh
century Saracen soldiers who have occupied the Holy City?
