A talented pianist and composer in his own right, Sun Ra (1914 -
1993) founded and conducted one of jazz's last great big bands from
the 1950s until he left planet Earth. Few only know that he also
was a gifted thinker and poet. Sun Ra's poetry leaves everything
behind what's called contemporary, and flings out pictures of
infinity into the outer space. These poems are for tomorrow. This
is the only edition of Sun Ra's complete poetry and prose in one
volume. The Contributors James L. Wolf Earned a music degree from
Carleton College, and studied ethnomusicology at the University of
Washington, Seattle. Now works at the Library of Congress in the
Music Division. Active musician in various bands in the DC area.

1940 - 1945. Stuttgart im Luftkrieg. Der Autor Hartmut Geerken
blendet zur ck in seine traumatische Kindheit. Seit Jahrzehnten hat
Geerken versch ttete Erinnerungssplitter aus jener Zeit ausgegraben
und in Notizheften festgehalten. Diese "Splittersammlung" ist das
Ausgangsmaterial von "phos."Tageb cher eines damaligen
Hausbewohners, historische und aktuelle Ereignisse, Tr ume,
Auschwitz, Reisenotizen, Fundst cke, pers nliche Befindlichkeiten,
Wahnsinn heutiger Kriege hinweist.
minutengenaue Dauer jedes Angriffs bezeichnet. Darauf folgt jeweils
Romuald Karmakar's work in the fields of fiction and documentary
holds a unique place in European film. It also stands in clear
opposition to the dominant ways of the German film industry - both
aesthetically and in its head-on treatment of several sore spots in
German history. Time and again the 45-year-old director has engaged
with "impossible" characters and "borderline" subjects:
mercenaries, a notorious Nazi speech, the terror of being in a
relationship, an imprisoned serial killer, or what it means to
truly experience electronic and techno music. The book presents
Karmakar's work in its entirety for the first time. It includes a
130-page essay by Olaf M?ller, several conversations with the
artist, an annotated filmography, and selected writings by Romuald
Karmakar, including a number of unproduced treatments.
