In 'National Treasure' (2004), Nicolas Cage stars as Benjamin Franklin Gates, an archaeologist from the seventh generation of a family of treasure-seekers who have all shared the same quest: to discover the whereabouts of an old war chest full of gold hidden by the founding fathers in the last days of the Revolutionary War. Ben must work against the clock to unravel the clues embedded in the original drafts of two key historical documents - the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence - before his criminal ex-partner Ian Howe (Sean Bean), or the FBI - led by Agent Sadusky (Harvey Keitel) - get their mitts on the loot. Helping him in his quest is beautiful archivist Abigail Chase (Diane Kruger). The journey leads Ben and his crew not only to surprising revelations, but to the trail of the world's most treasured secrets.

(Tilda Swinton) and finds himself bequeathed a valuable painting, 'Boy With Apple', when she passes away - much to the fury of her son Dmitri (Adrien Brody). Controversial crime drama from Abel Ferrara, the director of 'Driller Killer'. Harvey Keitel plays an unhinged New York detective who feeds his drug habit and eases his gambling debts by preying on the low-life criminals with whom he comes into contact. Writer-director Quentin Tarantino's feature debut, an examination of the aftermath of a jewellery robbery which has gone violently wrong, is widely regarded as a milestone of independent filmmaking. Tim Roth, Harvey Keitel and Steve Buscemi are amongst the stars making up the team of robbers who meet at a warehouse after the failed heist and attempt to work out who is to blame. The film includes the infamous ear-cutting scene and a classic 1970s soundtrack.
Martin Scorsese's semi-autobiographical debut feature stars a then-unknown Harvey Keitel as J.R., a young Italian-American living in 1960s New York. Filmed over a five-year period, the film introduces us to what have since become classic Scorsese themes: Catholic guilt, Italian mamas and their cooking, repressed sexuality, New York - and, of course, street violence. J.R., who has hitherto spent his days and nights aimlessly hanging out with his friends on the streets of Little Italy, undergoes a rite of passage when he meets The Girl (Zina Bethune) on the Staten Island ferry. Beautiful, blonde and sophisticated, she opens up a whole new world to J.R., who falls completely in love with her, and strives to maintain the sanctity of their fledgling relationship by not sleeping with her. But when she reveals that she has already lost her virginity as the result of a date rape, he struggles to reconcile this revelation with his flawless, idealistic image of her.
Groundbreaking drama of urban alienation from director Martin Scorsese and writer Paul Schrader. Vietnam veteran Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro) works as a New York City taxi driver, and is consumed with disgust by the 'filth' which surrounds him. His explosive, psychotic loathing eventually drives him to make an attempt on the life of a politician, and when it fails he turns his attention to saving a prostitute (Jodie Foster) from the clutches of her pimp.
