Innerhalb Europas ist Spanien das wichtigste Ziel dieser Migrationsbewegung, und britische Pensionre reprsentieren den grten Anteil. Doch wie gestaltet sich das Leben der Pensionre in der neuen Lebensumgebung, welche Implikationen hat die Auswanderung im Kontext des fortgeschrittenen Lebensalters und welche sozialen und gesellschaftspolitischen Fragestellungen wirft dieses Phnomen auf? In einer auergewhnlichen ethnographischen Studie untersucht Heiko Haas dies am Beispiel ehrenamtlichen Engagements, welches insbesondere fr viele britische Rentner eine tragende Rolle im Alltagsleben in Spanien einnimmt.
