Abstract: Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Die Konzepte "Category
Management" (CM) und "Efficient Consumer Response" (ECR) wurden in
der Marketingtheorie und -praxis der letzten Jahre intensiv
diskutiert. Diese in der amerikanischen Praxis entwickelten, neuen
Kooperationsformen sollten durch eine ganzheitliche Optimierung der
Wertschopfungskette vom Produzenten zum Konsumenten sowohl
Einsparungspotentiale als auch Ertragssteigerungen fur alle
beteiligten Unternehmen erschliessen und einen Mehrwert fur den
Verbraucher generieren. Diese Vorstellung pragte den Ausdruck der
"Win-Win-Win"-Strategie. Der anfanglichen Euphorie ist vielfach
Ernuchterung gefolgt. Man hat erkannt, dass sich selbst die in den
USA erfolgreich praktizierten Ansatze (sog. Best Practices) nur
begrenzt auf Europa ubertragen lassen. In Deutschland dominierte
bisher das Streben nach Kosteneinsparungen in der Administration
und Logistik, anstatt durch Category Management den Verbraucher in
den Fokus zu stellen. Die Frage nach den Barrieren der Realisierung
dieses Konzepts, nach deren Ursachen und Losungsmoglichkeiten blieb
bisher unbeantwortet. Diese Arbeit soll wissenschaftlich ergrunden,
warum Category Management (CM) als Bestandteil des ECR-Ansatzes
trotz der allgemeinen Einigkeit uber dessen Vorteile bisher nur in
vereinzelten Pilotprojekten realisiert wurde und wie Category
Management trotz des bestehenden Konfliktpotentials zwischen
Konsumguterherstellern und Einzelhandelsunternehmen erfolgreich
