This is an EXACT reproduction of a book published before 1923. This

Die Geschichte der Freimaurerei ist selbst heute noch vielen
unbekannt, die geheimnisumwitterte Bruderschaft umgibt stets ein
Dunstkreis aus Mystifizierung und Spekulation. Heinrich Boos machte
schon 1894 Schluss mit Vorurteilen und falschen Behauptungen. Als
Eingeweihter" (Boos war gehorte selbst einer Loge an) sieht er in
dieser Neubearbeitung von 1906 besonders auf die mittelalterlichen
Ursprunge der Freimaurerei in England und Deutschland sowie ihren
grossen Einfluss auf die Literatur. Boos stellt fest: Die ganze
Literatur des ausgehenden 18. Jahrhunderts ist von freimaurerischen
Ideen durchtrankt...." Sein Werk wurde in Historikerkreisen mit
viel Beifall aufgenommen
