This book brings together a series of contributions to the study of
grammaticalization of tense, aspect, and modality from a functional
perspective. All contributions share the aim to uncover the

types of verbal peripheries used in modern Peninsula Spanish. It
provides a description of semantics and syntax of verbal perphases,
and introduces a new subclassification of analytical verbal
constructions.
