What if you discovered that your deepest feelings of despair are simply a result of your own choice? Author Hermogenes Newhouse has divined just that through his own considerable life-threatening trials. After contemplating suicide at an early age, and later on confronting circumstances that hampered all hope, he emerged to regain an ongoing mastery of his own happiness. Now, his inspiring new book, Bandage and Stitches for the Soul, shares the revelations he gleaned so that others may avail of a similar inroad to a greater joy. In elegant, uplifting prose, Bandage and Stitches for the Soul recounts the author's experiences with challenging times in his life and in others. In those struggles, he found that grace, God, and faith transformed the darkest days into a new terrain of hope, life, and resolve. From his ruminations on a forsaken woman who is ostracized by her hunched back to the author's own close brushes with catastrophe, Newhouse reveals how every individual hangs precariously between despair and delight. Moreover, it is within our own power to choose between perceiving the world as hopeless or heartening. The key to mastering emotions is to be prepared for challenges before they appear, and the issues that flood your world when the rain comes. Anyone who feels encumbered by the weight of daily issues, or who cares about someone who is, will find great solace and encouragement from this enriching and freeing book. As stirring as it is easy to read, Bandage and Stitches for the Soul speaks moving truths in a gentle voice that will resonate greatly with anyone in search of a lifeline.
