All six episodes from the first season of the Welsh crime drama series starring Philip Madoc as DCI Noel Bain, who relies more on instinct than scientific evidence to track down criminals. Episodes are: 'White Rocks', 'Black Silence', 'Gameboys', 'Rest Not Secure', 'Son of His Works' and 'Rachel Hardcastle'.
It was not until 1971 that the authority for defining scientific units, the General Conference of Weights and Measures got around to defining the unit that is the basis of chemistry (the mole, or the quantity of something). Yet for all this tardiness in putting the chemical sciences on a sound quantitative basis, chemistry is an old and venerable subject and one naturally asks the question, why? Well, the truth is that up until the mid-1920s, many physicists did not believe in the reality of molecules. Indeed, it was not until after the physics community had accepted Ernest Rutherford's 1913 solar-system-like model of the atom, and the quantum mechanical model of the coupling of electron spins in atoms that physicists started to take seriously the necessity of explaining the chemical changes that chemists had been observing, investigating and recording since the days of the alchemists.
Weights and measures form an essential part of our ingrained view of the world. It is just about impossible to function effectively without some internalized system of measurement.
Encephalitis - inflammation of the brain - has significant cognitive, behavioural and emotional consequences. This special edition describes the pathway of recovery following encephalitis, from medical management to assessment, rehabilitation and community support and advocacy. The neuropsychological and neuropsychiatric outcomes of encephalitis in both adult and paediatric populations are described, in addition to a number of rehabilitation studies which aim to increase the functional independence and psychosocial adjustment of survivors of this rare neurological condition.

Global Justice: The Basics is a straightforward and engaging introduction to the theoretical study and practice of global justice. It examines the key political themes and philosophical debates at the heart of the subject, providing a clear outline of the field and exploring: the history of its development the current state of play its ongoing interdisciplinary development. Using case studies from around the world which illustrate the importance of the debates at the heart of global justice, as well as activist campaigns for global justice, the book examines a wide range of theoretical debates from thinkers worldwide, making it ideal for those seeking a balanced introduction to global justice.

Weights and measures form an essential part of our ingrained view of the world. It is just about impossible to function effectively without some internalized system of measurement. In this volume, I outline a history of the science of measurement, and the origin of the International System of Units ('SI'). The simplicity and coherence of the Metric System is outlined, and we see how a system of weights and measures, based on only seven fundamental quantities, can be used as the basis of all science. We will soon witness a redefinition of four of the seven fundamental quantities upon which the SI is based. This change in how we all define a number of fundamental quantities will not be subject to any discussion or appeal, humanity will be presented with a fait accompli. What will this mean for us?
Neoliberalism has firmly taken hold in Wales. The 'clear red water' is darkening. The wounds of poverty, inequality, and disengagement, far from being healed, have worsened. Child poverty has reached epidemic levels: the worst in the UK. Educational attainment remains stubbornly low, particularly in deprived communities. Prison population rates are among the highest in Europe. Unemployment remains stubbornly high. House prices are rising, with the private rented sector lining the pockets of an ever-increasing number of private landlords. Minority groups are consistently marginalised. All this is not to mention the devastatingly disproportionate impact of the coronavirus pandemic on working class communities. The Welsh Way interrogates neoliberalism's grasp on Welsh life. It challenges the lazy claims about the 'successes' of devolution, fabricated by Welsh politicians and regurgitated within a tepid, attenuated public sphere. These wide-ranging essays examine the manifold ways in which neoliberalism now permeates all areas of Welsh culture, politics and society. They also look to a wider world, to the global trends and tendencies that have given shape to Welsh life today. Together, they encourage us to imagine, and demand, another Welsh future.
Dyfal ond dychmygus, caiff Ceridwen ei lluchio i sefyllfa ddirdynnol ym mherfeddion y canolbarth, a hithau a'i mam yn gofalu am ei Gransha yn ei ddyddiau olaf, yn hen dyddyn y teulu. Gyda'r byd yn datgymalu o'u cwmpas ceir cyfle i ddianc i'r dychymyg gyda chymorth Nain, a wnaeth adael casgliad amrywiol o lyfrau pan fu farw i Ceridwen. Trwy'r trysorau hyn y mae Ceridwen yn cwrdd a chyfres o gymeriadau annisgwyl, sydd yn canu am hanesion a syniadau o'r henfyd i'r presennol, ac yn agor drws iddi ar fyd llawn cwestiynau a myfyrdodau ar ei chyflwr hithau, ei chenedl a'r byd tu hwnt. Wrth ddilyn hynt yng nghwmni ei chyfeillion yr hyn a elwir gan Ceridwen yn 'Ysbryd Morgan', daw'n hysbys iddi fod gobaith i'w ganfod yng ngwedd bruddglwyfus ei theulu a'i chymdeithas, ond i'w ganfod mae'n rhaid cysylltu gyda'r gorffennol, tra yn dechrau o'r newydd. Nawr, yn y dilyniant yma i Credoau'r Cymry (2016), mae Huw Lloyd Williams yn cyflwyno hanes deallusol o Gymru sy'n trin y seiliau syniadol sydd wedi ysbrydoli adnewyddu parhaol ein diwylliant yn wyneb argyfyngau oesol.
