Idiot Boy has reached a pivotal point. Something is telling him he
needs to express the thoughts, ideas and anxieties that are
coursing through his brain. For some reason, he is less able to do
that in real life than through the written word. He has gained much
experience of the world and the challenges it presents. These
bite-sized, 'thought poems' describe many of the challenges he
faces - social, physical, technological and personal. Life feels
hard but there is an optimism that there are better ways that the
world could work, if only we opened our eyes to the possibilities.
There are deeply felt and philosophical sentiments alongside much
lighter musings. He openly admits his own narcissistic and
self-obsessive tendencies, together with all the insecurities. In
turn, the prevalence of such tendencies in wider society is
suggested. Questions are asked - where is the human race going? Why
are we beset with such contradictions and hypocrisy? What is for
dinner?
