This is the story of a little girl and her cat midnight . Living out on a farm in Verdigre Ne. as a little girl she became very fond of Midnight as there were no other children close by to play with. (The first part of the story and Fran's fantisies of the little people living out under the plants and such are true as she used to tell me about her childhood there with her cat and mother and father.) But midnight was no ordinary cat as when it became dark out Midnight would disappear out into the barnyard and into the fields. The Little girls name was Fran and as all children do she had a great imagination and one night Midnight woke her and insisted that she get up and go with him out into the darkness of the night. At the time she didn't know it but midnight had little friends out there of fairies and elves and some were in trouble and he knew that he couldn't handle this all by himself so had to depend on Fran to help rescue them. Fran always had make believe friends to play with but as this story unfolded she became involved in one of her fantasies that would be remembered well into her adult years. Many times she told her husband of her childhood dreams and that is how this book came into being written. It is a children's book that I think many will enjoy, It took place in the town of Verdigre Nebraska where her parents lived and worked. Read on and enjoy.

Early in the 1940s it wasn't unusual to hear the word Mafia as it was almost an everyday word. Today in the year 2012 it is seldom heard not that it isn't still around but the times have changed and It is more sophisticated with big business and doing things legal so as not to be as conspicuous as back in the early years of the 1930s through the 50s and 60s. You may remember going to the small grocery stores and would see a fellow come in and one stand out front with long black coats and just look at the store owner as he opened the cash register and took out a certain amount of protection money and hand it to the fellow standing there with a little grin on his face as no words exchanged. Then they would leave till the following week and repeat it all over again store after store to pick money. If not the store might be burnt to the ground soon.Back then almost everyone knew what was going on but it seemed like it was something they were scared to interfere with at the time till many years later. But this story is about a very nice Lady that was just a waitress with a boyfriend that happened to become friends with a group from the underworld. All of the names in this book have been changed as to protect any one of whom might still be alive. The person that gathered the information and kept notes has recently passed and his lovely wife who was told of the dealings every night wrote them down as she heard his words. They sat in a tiny booth typing away through the years till they had a box of five thick books more than enough for 20 books to be written. For the present time we will only take a part out of one to let you know of the dealings and how Antonio became involved and how things got settled for some of the Mafia's higher up's back in the 1940s and 50s. If you like crime stories you will like this one.

Moving to Iowa and running a restaurant for the Milwaukee Railroad out on acres of land. We became friends with the conservation department and soon were asked if we would like to raise abandoned or orphaned owls. We took on the challenge and learned a lot of there habits and decided to write a book and share a lot of the photos we had taken . Also the hunting and experiences we would like to share.

This is a true story of someone I met at the right time in my life. It turned my life around at the time from what it might have been as I was going through some rough time with the loss of my lovely wife of 47 years. After getting to know her I learned we were both overcoming some bad times. There is no way to really describe what a kind and helpful person she turned out to be. This book is a little tribute to her for being there when I needed her the most. If you happen to read this book remember there is a Linda out there that is a very special girl. This is not just a story, but 50 years of a couple sharing a life that most people might find hard to believe. How many people are there who could live just a few weeks shy 80, and in that time have everyone that ever met her say how great and nice of a person she was? Fran my wife was that kind of woman. Now that she is gone I realize how lucky I was. I met her almost 50 years ago and we married a little over 47 years ago - so to know what she really was about you have to know it from the beginning. It's more than most people live in one lifetime: a lot of hard work, a lot of smiles no matter what, and living a life to its fullest all day, every day, while raising a family of five children to adulthood. So read on; I hope you all enjoy it. I was so lucky to have her for my wife and thankful that God saved her just for me.

How I started Taxidermy in the state of Iowa and then moveing back to Michigan where I was originally from. Some of the great Pheasant hunting and fishing I did in Iowa with many adventures there.
