The Shepherd Leader is a book on new leadership thinking and model.
It uses the shepherd metaphor to simplistically show how leadership
should be conducted whether in the corporate world, academia,
government institutions, churches, social clubs and the like. It
highlights leadership masterhood over servanthood and posits that
servant leadership should be stepped up to shepherd leadership
because, as a matter of order, a servant acts only when he receives
directives from the master. In the shepherd personification, both
service-mindedness and humility are encompassed. The Shepherd
Leader explains that the fundamental tools any kind of leader needs
are the rod and staff, and that jointly these tools produce the
comfort and surplus required by the followers.
