Most churches have a poor to non-existent method of training new Christian converts. Therefore, the new convert has very little knowledge on how to make the transition from living the sinner's life living a separated life that is filled with forgiveness and charity. They aren't trained to forgive and forget the sins and trespasses that are rendered against them. They know not that the Holy Spirit lives in their heart and will tell them exactly what to do in every step they take and how to respond to every encounter they have, whether it be positive or negative. They know not that God will take care of the regardless in the wake of slander, financial hardships, or physical devastation. They hear sermons from the pulpit about tithing but have no concept how to start or how it will affect their life if they start tithing on a regular basis. They are unprepared to deal with gossip and verbal bullying that they will encounter. They are members of a church for years and have no concept of how to effectively pray in public or how to witness effectively to a lost person. This book is not written for a specific denomination. It is written as a guide to all new converts.
This book seeks to invert the negativity inherent to the well-articulated challenges of long-term care for older people by focusing on progression and improvement for policy and practice. Building on ample research in 13 European countries, evidence is provided for how the construction of long-term care systems can be taken forward by practitioners, policy-makers and stakeholder organizations. By focusing on prevention and rehabilitation, the support of informal care, the enhancement of quality development as well as by decent governance and financing mechanisms for long-term care, stakeholders may learn from European experiences and solutions on the local, regional and national levels.
Drawing on research across a wide range of European countries, this book analyzes the key issues at stake in developing long-term care systems for older people in Europe with a focus on progression and improvement for policy and practice.

The year was 1859. The Pike's Peak Gold Rush hit the foot of the Rocky Mountains like a typhoon, bringing wave upon wave of miners and settlers to this new land. There wasn't just gold to be discovered. There was new life, new relationships and new ways of thinking. As you journey with CW Burbridge and William Loveland, you will find that they had little in common when they decided to carve out a living in the fledgling town of Golden City in the Colorado Territories. Encounters with less than friendly Indians and hard times were common place in the Wild West, and the challenges of raising a family would intertwine their hope for survival. These settlers will leave their mark on your heart as they did on the history of Golden. Coni Billings is a fourth generation Colorado Native. She lives in the mountains of Colorado with her husband, Len and their children. She enjoys writing, art and the beautiful Colorado mountains. You can contact her at [email protected]
What is Life Without Life encompasses the sizzle, fizzle and realities of life as we live it. It is a mixed book of love poems, hardship poems, religion and thoughts to ponder. The poems cross many pathways of life such as diversity, nature, and seasons. I feel deeply one of the poems will touch the heart, springing a chuckle and smile, or spill a tear. It is my hope the reader will enjoy reading the book of poems as I did in writing them.
Jill Gardiner, an ambitious young woman from the 21st century,
inexplicably wakes up in 1928 where her first contacts are two
young boat builders who at once vie for her attention and
affection. Steeling herself to not only survive, but take advantage
of her new circumstances, she uses foreknowledge to manipulate the
rising stock market into enough capital to allow her friends to
build the rumrunner boat of their dreams. With a less than subtle
nudge from a local garage owner-cum-bootlegger, they form a
partnership that leads to more dangerous encounters than any of the
unlikely foursome might dream in their worst nightmares. Running at
night in their marvelous creation, the Ghost, they must contend
with ferocious natural elements, elude Coast Guard patrols, fight
off determined pirates and even one of their own clients. While her
partners struggle to maintain difficult rendezvous, Jill, still
connected to her computer, is being manipulated to complete the
insane goal of the 21st century power broker who sent her back in
time. Torn between loyalty and affection for both young men, she
forms a plan to turn the tables on the evil conspirators and secure
a future for her new friends. From the rocky shores of British
Columbia to the infamous Chinese tunnels beneath Tacoma,
Washington, danger and intrigue follow the Night Runner partners.
This carefully crafted and historically correct adventure tale will
have readers of all ages turning its pages into the wee hours as
they vicariously live the life of the young rum-runners as they
speed through the night in the Ghost, a truly marvelous Night
Runner.
Pastoral counselor J. Bill Ratliff shows that facing change in our lives doesn't have to be a traumatic experience--it can be a time of enlightenment. Ratliff describes the types of chosen and unchosen changes one is likely to encounter in life and then tells how to deal with endings, uncertainties, and new beginnings. If we listen for the voice of God, Ratliff says, we can emerge from a time of major change more whole than we were before we entered.
