This Is A New Release Of The Original 1902 Edition.
This work outlines a brief history of conservatism from 800 BC to
present day, and offers insight and suggestions for a needed
cultural restoration. Restoring History is timely and holds the
seeds that could return Western culture back to health. The main
thesis of the work is that reconciliation and philosophical
interaction between conservatism's five historical forms can
restore an intellectually vigorous, culturally fruitful, morally
coherent and politically potent society. Current political and
cultural arenas provide a good backdrop to consider the vital role
of conservatism in Western history. Conservative ideals provided a
crucial function in the Western civilization's rise to become the
world premiere in literature, philosophy, art, music, architecture,
economics, commerce, exploration, science, technology, war and
politics. Western culture is often equated with European
civilization and broadly refers to a heritage of social norms,
ethics, traditions, religious beliefs, political systems, and
specific artifacts and technologies. Conservative principles and
values have consistently produced beneficial effects on culture. In
contrast, liberalism has often been destructive to Western culture,
propagating false views about the nature of man, society,
government and the cosmos - and only produces a mixed blessing.
There is an illusion in the land that liberalism is an old
tradition, and that conservatism arose in the late 1940's as a
reactionary force. In fact, four of the five types of conservatism
were very old when liberalism first appeared during the 18th
century, after the West had already established dominance.
Hannah Kidd is a wildly popular television sportscaster for the
SPCN sports channel in Chicago. There is good reason for Hannah's
popularity-she accurately predicts the winners of NFL football
games on the air, a blessing to millions of amateur and
professional gamblers in America. There is a sinister downside,
however, to Hannah's "gift" for picking winners. Big-time bookies
are losing their shirts and they aren't too happy. It is decided at
a clandestine Christmas meeting of the nation's biggest bookmakers
that gentle persuasion might work best. They decide to talk to
Hannah. "No rough stuff," declares Blackie Loffreno, a New York
City bookie and head of the loosely organized mob of books. Talk,
however, fails to remedy the problem. Hannah refuses to compromise
herself and she continues to pick winners. How does Hannah predict
NFL winners week after week? It baffles the bookies, and they are
left with only one option-kill her.

Here they come, the world's most useless, inept and dysfunctional superhero team ev-ver! Collected here in one volume are the first 2 full adventures of the League of Justice both written by Barry Hutchinson, one of the writers of the show. Featuring two riotously funny, violently profanity-filled adventures that give crime fighting a bad name!
MANY HANDS
After successfully defeating arch villian PSY-CLONE, the LEAGE OF JUSTICE find themselves the proud owners of a cloning machine and despite vowing not to abuse it, promptly start doing just that, by creating versions of themselves to do all the 'heroing' stuff while they stay at home eating chips and watching daytime TV. At first it all goes well with the clones proving themselves to be even better than the originals, but when the clones start turning super bad, it's up to the League to get off their fat asses and save the day, that is if they can be bothered...
NAZI ON MY WATCH!
Following the mayhem caused by the clones in Many Hands, the League find themselves sent on a super hero exchange program with a group of German heroes called DIE LIGA in the hope of improving their profile. However while in German, American Ranger (a hero from WW2 who was frozen in time) is arrested and charged with war crimes, and to make matters worse, Die Liga turn out to be far more interested in forming the Fourth Reich in Storm City than in solving crime! Now Rex and co must fight their way out of Germany and get back home in time to save the day!
