These are stories, mostly true, that I have lived or heard from good sources. Most of them gave me "Life Lessons" or were chances to observe the natural world. I hope the funny ones are funny to the reader. This is my second book . The first one, available on Amazon as a paper back or E Book has a similar title. "A Curmudgeon's True Tales of the Outdoors" Has been well received and has a total of nine five star reviews. The same is happening for the Nook. This book is different since there are untrue tales for the reader to scoff or laugh at. Forgive me for trying to have a little experimental fun. I have not tried a full fiction book yet, and remember, I am Old.

1858. Or rifle, axe and saddle bags, and other lectures. The author was a lecturer and this was his first attempt at publishing his work. When it is remembered that this is the author's first appearance before the public in print, and that he now appears with a volume announced as a collection of spoken lectures, the reader will only have cause to wonder at the degree of refinement of style and elegance of manner, which the pages of the book display. Twelve pages of the original we reproduced have ink spots which we were unable to repair.
