A novel exposition of the analysis of variance and regression. The key feature here is that these tools are viewed in their natural mathematical setting - the geometry of finite dimensions. This is because geometry clarifies the basic statistics and unifies the many aspects of analysing variance and regression.
An expert guide for IT administrators needing to create and manage
a public cloud and virtual network using Microsoft Azure With
Microsoft Azure challenging Amazon Web Services (AWS) for market
share, there has been no better time for IT professionals to
broaden and expand their knowledge of Microsoft's flagship
virtualization and cloud computing service. Microsoft Azure
Infrastructure Services for Architects: Designing Cloud Solutions
helps readers develop the skills required to understand the
capabilities of Microsoft Azure for Infrastructure Services and
implement a public cloud to achieve full virtualization of data,
both on and off premise. Microsoft Azure provides granular control
in choosing core infrastructure components, enabling IT
administrators to deploy new Windows Server and Linux virtual
machines, adjust usage as requirements change, and scale to meet
the infrastructure needs of their entire organization. This
accurate, authoritative book covers topics including IaaS cost and
options, customizing VM storage, enabling external connectivity to
Azure virtual machines, extending Azure Active Directory,
replicating and backing up to Azure, disaster recovery, and much
more. New users and experienced professionals alike will: Get
expert guidance on understanding, evaluating, deploying, and
maintaining Microsoft Azure environments from Microsoft MVP and
technical specialist John Savill Develop the skills to set up
cloud-based virtual machines, deploy web servers, configure hosted
data stores, and use other key Azure technologies Understand how to
design and implement serverless and hybrid solutions Learn to use
enterprise security guidelines for Azure deployment Offering the
most up to date information and practical advice, Microsoft Azure
Infrastructure Services for Architects: Designing Cloud Solutions
is an essential resource for IT administrators, consultants and
engineers responsible for learning, designing, implementing,
managing, and maintaining Microsoft virtualization and cloud
technologies.
Build a seamless, flexible, full-service datacenter solution
Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Hyper-V is the IT administrator's
guide to this rising datacenter solution. Hyper-V has already
surpassed VMWare in datacenter management, identity service for
multiple devices, and more; this book shows you how to harness the
power of this hypervisor to simplify the infrastructure, reduce
costs, improve productivity, and better manage system resources.
From a tour of the technology through architecture, deployment, and
integration of System Center, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Azure
Stack, the discussion illustrates the skills you need to create a
complete solution for optimum enterprise management. Coverage
includes Windows Azure capabilities for virtual machines, managing
a hybrid cloud, IaaS, storage capabilities, PowerShell, and more,
with practical real-world guidance from a leading authority in the
field. Hyper-V has recently undergone improvements in scalability
and features that have positioned it as an ideal solution in the
Small/Medium Business and Enterprise markets. This book shows you
how to exploit these new capabilities to build a robust data
solution for your organization. * Discover the capabilities of
Microsoft Hyper-V * Architect a Hyper-V datacenter solution * Plan
and manage a deployment or migration * Integrate complementary
technologies for full scalability Data is everywhere on desktops,
laptops, phones, and multiple operating systems, accessed through
email, text messages, web searches, online services, and more. All
of this data must be stored, accessible, updated, backed up,
secured, managed, sorted, and analyzed sometimes instantly. Hyper-V
is the rising star in the virtualization space, and Microsoft
Windows Server 2016 Hyper-V shows you how to turn greater
capabilities into better datacenter solutions.
A novel exposition of the analysis of variance and regression. The
key feature here is that these tools are viewed in their natural
mathematical setting - the geometry of finite dimensions. This is
because geometry clarifies the basic statistics and unifies the
many aspects of analysing variance and regression.
The aim of this book is to present the mathematics underlying
elementary statistical methods in as simple a manner as possible.
These methods include independent and paired sample t-tests,
analysis of variance, regression, and the analysis of covariance.
The author's principle tool is the use of geometric ideas to
provide more visual insight and to make the theory accessible to a
wider audience than is usually possible.
Are you an applied researcher or a statistics student? If so, have
you ever wondered if there is any rhyme or reason behind the
apparent jumble of ad hoc statistical "recipes" that are most
commonly used by researchers? If you have, then this book is for
you Within its pages, the rhyme and reason are explained in a
surprisingly simple, visual and appealing manner. The statistical
methods referred to are those based on the "Normal" distribution.
They include the paired and independent samples t tests, analysis
of variance, and regression. The rhyme is explained by analysing
four case studies, one for each of these topics. The key to the
rhyme is to use elementary vector geometry. Then the crucial ideas
are easily explained by drawing right-angled triangles and applying
Pythagoras' Theorem. "Keep it simple" has been our aim. The
geometric ideas are first introduced and applied to data sets in
two and three dimensions, before we gently introduce higher
dimensional examples. Throughout, we use real data sets taken from
real research studies, and take care to explain the interpretation
of the statistical analyses. In this way, the book integrates the
algebraic, numeric, geometric and practical aspects of these basic
statistical methods. We hope that many students as well as
practicing researchers and statisticians will enjoy this novel
visual approach to these ideas.
