The Palgrave Handbook of Prison Ethnography provides an expansive
overview of the challenges presented by qualitative, and
particularly ethnographic, enquiry. The chapters reflect upon the
means by which ethnographers aim to gain understanding, make sense
of what they learn and the way they represent their finished work.
The Handbook offers urgent insights relevant to current trends in
the growth of imprisonment worldwide. In an era of mass
incarceration, human-centric ethnography provides an important
counter to quantitative analysis and the audit culture on which
prisons are frequently judged. The Handbook is divided into four
parts. Part I ('About Prison Ethnography') assesses methodological,
theoretical and pragmatic issues related to the use of ethnographic
and qualitative enquiry in prisons. Part II ('Through Prison
Ethnography') considers the significance of ethnographic insights
in terms of wider social or political concerns. Part III ('Of
Prison Ethnography') analyses different aspects of the roles
ethnographers take and how they negotiate their research settings.
Part IV ('For Prison Ethnography') includes contributions that
convincingly extend the value of prison ethnography beyond the
prison itself. Bringing together contributions by some of the
world's leading scholars in criminology and prison studies, this
authoritative volume maps out new directions for future research.
It will be an indispensable resource for practitioners, students,
academics and researchers who use qualitative social research
methods to further their understanding of prisons.
A cursory reading of the history of US colleges and universities
reveals that campus crime has been part of collegiate life since
the Colonial Era, yet it was not until the late 1980s that it
suddenly became an issue on the public stage. Drawing from numerous
mass media and scholarly sources and using a theoretical framework
grounded in social constructionism, this text chronicles how four
groups of activists - college student advocates, feminists, victims
and their families, and public health experts - used a variety of
tactics and strategies to convince the public that campus crime
posed a new danger to the safety and security of college students
and the ivory tower itself, while simultaneously convincing
policymakers to take action against the problem. Readers from a
range of disciplinary interests will find the book both compelling
and valuable to understanding campus crime as a newly constructed
social reality.

While much has been written about the repertoire of musical works
for pianoforte duet, ensemble literature for the other classical,
historical, and contemporary keyboard instruments has usually been
mentioned in only incidental ways. The goal of this bibliography is
to advance the playing and listening enjoyment of works written for
two or more players at the individual or combined instruments of
the clavichord, harpsichord, and organ. It offers a starting point
for future research, covering material from the 16th through the
20th centuries, and lists works that keyboard performers can use in
programs without involving other instrumentalists or singers. The
book begins with a brief introduction to clavichord, harpsichord,
and organ music throughout the centuries and is followed by the
representative listing of more than 325 works, arranged
alphabetically by the more than 220 composers covered. This
literature spans five centuries, several nationalities, many
different styles, a wide range of compositional techniques, and all
types of ensembles. The degree of difficulty varies widely, though
most are within the grasp of even modest performers. Wherever
possible, sources for all scores have been cited, while those out
of print have been cited to recordings or even addresses of
composers and arrangers. A series of appendixes provide further
useful information, including a discography, addresses of
libraries, and addresses of music publishers. This original
reference work will be a valuable asset to students of keyboard
pedagogy, as well as for professional musicians and music scholars.

This is a touching story about a 13 year old girl that is trying to
find her place in the world. Just kidding . It is actually the
first in a three part series about spies, the Illuminati, and the
Majestic 12. It is very loosely based on my life and should be
considered a masterpiece
