deren Verhalten.

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related death in men, and in women, it has surpassed even breast cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, in 2001, there will be about 169,500 new cases of lung cancer in the United States: 90,700 among men and 78,800 among women. LUNG CANCER is the second installment in the M. D. Anderson Cancer Care Series, featuring the current standard approach to lung cancer care from the experts at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Designed for the practicing oncologist, this clinical guidebook allows for quick, authoritative access to the latest and best multimodality therapies. Topics covered in this volume include the clinical examination of patients with suspected lung cancer, thoracic imaging techniques for non-small cell and small cell lung cancer, pathology of lung cancer, treatment and management of non-small and small-cell lung cancer, including the role of guidelines and clinical pathways, molecular events in lung cancer and implications for prevention and therapy, palliation, and much more. Each of the 15 chapters ends with an up-to-date list of suggested readings, as well as "key practice points" highlighting the most important principles and practices of each chapter for at-a-glance reference. Over 50 illustrations and 40 tables round out the text. This thorough, practical volume is the essential clinical guide for oncologists, surgeons, and all physicians involved in the care of patients with lung cancer.

DEBATE. First Question: Are tli teachings and phenomena of Modern
Spiritualism identical with those of Jesus Christ? Affirmative,
Tiftaht. Negative, Ekbett. FIRST DAY. Horning Session. Mr. Tiffany.
Mr. Moderator, Ladies, and Gentlemen:?Mr. Errett and myself have
conferred together with regard to the rules necessary to be
observed in this debate, and find that we shall need but few, and
those very simple ones. We have agreed to have sessions both in the
morning and in the afternoon, and that five half-hour speeches
shall be made in each session; giving to each party the opening and
closing argument upon the alternate half- days. We shall meet in
the forenoon at half-past nine o'clock, so that we may close at
noon; and in the afternoon at two, closing the day's debate at
four. In entering upon a discussion for the purpose of ascertaining
and maintaining principles, it is necessary that we have some
fundamental basis, from which we may both take our departure and
know whence we start. Whenever we intend to produce conviction in
the minds of individuals, it is important that they should be made
to understand the distinction between facts and truths, and I shall
therefore make this distinction at the outset and observe it
throughout the debate. The position I am to maintain is, that the
phenomena and teachings of Modern Spiritualism are identical in
character with those of Jesus of Nazareth. In the discussion of the
second question I shall affirm that the sect known as the Disciples
is anti-Christ in faith and practice. I now proceed to those
definitions and preliminary propositions which it will be necessary
for my friend Mr. Errett and myself to assent to and observe in
conducting the discussion. 1. That which perceives existence ia

This work tells the story of Sam Logan, a snake-bitten teen who has
a singular, self-destructive passion for the game of basketball.
Both of Sam's parents have passed away, and as a high school senior
he now faces the most critical point in his life without a familial
structure to lean on. Lacking any true parental voice of reason, he
has developed hatred for a bureaucratic adult world that he feels
has screwed him. Having bounced around from one foster home to
another, he is convinced that the only way he can escape a dead end
existence in his small town is to earn a college basketball
scholarship. However, the odds are stacked against him as he and
his teammates must overcome a series of obstacles (not the least of
which is their own shoot-themselves-in-the-foot behavior) in their
quest for a state title. As the season unfolds, Sam finds himself
having to contend with his own schizophrenic demons, physical
injury and a head coach that he is sure is blackballing him. Can
Sam and his teammates find success on the court and capture the
attention of college recruiters? Or will Sam have to rely on divine
intervention in order to escape the purgatory that has become his
life? It's "Animal House" meets "Hoosiers" when these Hardwood
Hellions take to the court.
