Discover the mystery of how one seemingly insignificant little word
can transform your life and change the world. YOU are THIS shares
the author's contemporary philosophy of One-duality wherein the
phenomenal world is recognised as real, and the Non-dual direct
experience of Awareness is realised to be the catalyst for
actualising the presence of your Authentic Soul. We cannot
'remember' Awareness, because the true Non-dual experience takes
place outside of time and space. It is not recalled through memory,
simply realised to be the ever-present sweet perfume of Life.
Following the Non-dual direct experience, a 'grounding' takes place
because you are bringing THIS which was uncovered beyond the
physical senses, back into the comprehension of those same senses,
the Being into the consciousness of the Human, and the formless
into form. In this way, Awareness is seen and felt to permeate all
dimensions of being without negation of any aspect of who or what
we are.
While the epic film has been around for decades, J.M. Harrison
points out there are countless facets to it, being more than
spectacle, battles, Cecil B. DeMille, and Charlton Heston. He
includes works by Samuel Bronston, Francis Ford Coppola, William
Wyler, Alexander Korda, Sam Zimbalist, and starring Robert Duvall,
Claudette Colbert, Montgomery Clift, Eva Marie Saint, Elizabeth
Taylor, Peter O'Toole, Steve McQueen and many others. Along the
way, Harrison delves into what it is that makes the epic special to
film lovers everywhere, covering nearly one hundred of the genre.
He lets the reader know why each one listed is a necessity for a
movie lover to watch. With over seven hundred and fifty photos,
this is a must for film fans.
"A fun, informative read." - Cinema Retro "Harrison does a great
job of expanding the 'must-see' list for we who love the Western."
- Southern Arizona News-Examiner Following a foreword by Western
legend Hugh O'Brian, Harrison delves into nearly one hundred motion
pictures of the genre. He does not state these are the greatest,
merely why a person interested in Westerns should watch these
particular films. In doing so, he goes over the synopsis and cast,
adding an analysis and history of each movie, with anecdotes by
legendary stuntman Jack N. Young whenever possible. Along the way,
the reader meets Western stalwarts such as Gary Cooper, John Wayne,
John Ford, Clint Eastwood and Sam Peckinpah, along with those who
don't get as much notice: Glenn Ford, Joel McCrea, William S. Hart,
Harry Carey, Walter Huston, Burt Kennedy, George Marshall, and
scores of others involved in bringing the Western to the screen.
With more than four hundred photos, 'Head Em Off At the Pass ' is a
treat for movie fans.

Covering areas such as why her husband has put a mouse trap in the
diswasher or taking the crusty part of the meat loaf for oneself,
tying it into marriage, motherhood, and God, Allen manages to make
the viewer chuckle while bringing across a serious point, reminding
readers of Erma Bombeck and Dave Barry, yet maintaining her own
style. Readers of all ages and both genders will enjoy Crusty Meat
Loaf and Mouse Traps In the Dishwasher, and look forward to Diana
Allen's next work.
CORPORATE AMERICA... And it's the 2020s. America three major
exports are streaming videos, righteous opiate pharmaceuticals and
cheeseburgers. China, with controlling interest, won't let us start
a war with Costa Rica Fox News has been made the fourth branch of
government. Lottery winners now opt for alcohol in lieu of
dollars... MEGALOMART... Is the world's largest corporation. Its
parking lots lay waste to whole counties. The owner just bought
Kansas because he wanted a larger 'side' yard. The US Navy rents
out Megalomart aircraft carriers. This juggernaut is the heir
apparent - for all intents and purposes - of the new 'Corporate'
America. Could world domination be far off? It is if you've made
the mistake of hiring Jake Gillis... Jake's old fashioned, he finds
the grinding, crushing, suffocating inhumanity that passes for
'business-as-usual' in Corporate America troubling. Don't get him
started on Megalomart, Inc., - a corporation so crazy its neuroses
have psychoses... Jake slaves away at Megalomart Gas (MGS) - a
wholly owned subsidiary of Megalomart and the world's largest gas
station. There are so many gas bays the furthest can't be seen
without binoculars from the store. The convenience store - six
stories tall - contains the world's smallest Indian casino. The gas
bay overhang is so massive it creates its own micro-weather as
reported on the nightly local news. Gas prices fluctuate so wildly
the station's electronic reader boards flicker wildly. The
mathematical algorithms governing how MGS determines the
price-per-gallon at any given moment were written by former AIG
derivatives managers and are managed by on-site AI computers. Shop
lifting and drive away gas theft are so common MGS has it's own
on-site judicial system, manned by moonlighting district court
employees. Now, that fickle bitch Fate has brought Gillis, Lord
Burton and Johnny 2Good together - for what cosmic scheme no mortal
knows. These three, through cunning and guile are just trying to
scratch out a living here at Gulag, Inc. To make life just a bit
easier for them and their's in the Land of Corp. And it's just that
talent for scheming and conniving that's so impressive... But even
Fate hadn't counted on how utterly bizarre 21st Century 'Corporate'
America had become. This might take awhile...
