First published in 1987. "Justice and liberty are the central
concepts of social and political thought." These true words of
Raphael's indicate the importance of these concepts, which resides
in the fact that they are significantly linked to most of the other
key notions in this field of thought, so that an understanding of
them is indispensable for an adequate grasp of Social Philosophy.
The author explores these concepts on essays on freedom and
fairness, and will be of great interest to students of philosophy.

First published in 1961, Inductive Probability is a dialectical
analysis of probability as it occurs in inductions. The book
elucidates on the various forms of inductive, the criteria for
their validity, and the consequent probabilities. This survey is
complemented with a critical evaluation of various arguments
concerning induction and a consideration of relation between
inductive reasoning and logic. The book promises accessibility to
even casual readers of philosophy, but it will hold particular
interest for students of Philosophy, Mathematics and Logic.
Originally published during the early part of the twentieth
century, the Cambridge County Geographies were designed to provide
a series of concise guides to British regions. Aimed at the general
reader, they combined a comprehensive approach to various aspects
of physical and human geography with an emphasis on clarity. This
guide to Clackmannan and Kinross by J. P. Day was first published
in 1915. The text is interspersed with numerous illustrative
figures and also contains a list of the chief towns and villages
within the area.
