An original, intelligent and twisty thriller set in rural
Wiltshire. A dead body in a crop circle sends a coded message. Can
DI Silas Hart uncover the chilling truth before its too late? It
isn't unusual for crop circles to appear overnight on Hackpen Hill.
In this part of Wiltshire, where golden wheat fields stretch for
miles, the locals have got used to discovering strange mathematical
patterns stamped into the earth. But this time, it's different. Not
only because this particular design of dramatic spiralling hexagons
has never been seen before. But because of the dead body positioned
precisely in the centre of the circle. DI Silas Hart, of Swindon
Police, is at a loss. Only Jim, a scientist at secretive government
laboratory Porton Down, knows the chilling truth about the man on
Hackpen Hill. And he wants Bella, a trainee journalist on her first
ever story, to tell the world. But Silas has other ideas - and a
boss intent on a cover up. As Bella and Jim race against time, dark
forces conspire against them, leading them to confront the reality
of their own past and a world in which nothing is as it seems.

Only when the public, through accurate knowledge, becomes more
actively involved in our government, will the great nation of the
United States prevail. In Pathway to Freedom, author J. Monroe
presents an easy-to-understand guidebook that provides the
necessary information to better comprehend and interpret the basics
of the government and how it functions. Pathway to Freedom provides
insight into the fundamentals of the US government, basic
study-to-understand tips on the Constitution, stigmas of both
elected officials and of the citizenry, and the foundations of the
Fourteenth Amendment, the Declaration of Independence, and the
Articles of Confederation. From a layman's perspective, Monroe
explains how a formula of mindset, education, time, and reading can
assist in better appreciating and knowing the government and its
critical documents. From outright violations of the Constitution to
maligned beliefs, Pathway to Freedom discusses the methodology by
which democracy and freedom are to be preserved.
In "The New Meaning of Educational Change" Fullen wrote, "Low
morale, depressed, feeling unfairly blamed for the ills of society?
You must be a teacher." This quote spoke volumes to me as I watched
politicians jockeying for position by spewing their recycled
political rhetoric, and then launch an all out attack against
public school teachers. In years past these attacks had been levied
against those receiving social security, Medicare and Medicaid
which mainly affected the poor, disabled and elderly. Don't get me
wrong these issues are still on the table, but I guess politicians
felt they had beaten them with a dead horse and needed another soft
target to spark the public's interest so public school teachers was
it. They struck with a vengeance firing public school teachers by
the thousands throughout the country. In an attempt to reduce the
collective bargaining power of teacher unions, such as American
Federation of Teacher (AFT) in Texas they claimed the only way they
knew to help balance the state and district school budget
shortfalls was to rescind some of the benefits they had agreed too.
It hurts when the profession I've dedicated over half of my adult
life (25 yrs.) to; is under attack by politicians and other's that
have no true concept of what's involved in being a public school
teacher. We have absolutely nothing to do with the decision making
process. First we're told to do one thing and then we're told to do
something entirely different. It's almost schizophrenic. To all of
my colleagues that remain on the frontlines of public education and
those that are planning to take up the banner 'This book's for
you.' You might not have control over the decisions being made
outside your classroom, but you can control those things going on
inside. I provide ways to control student behavior by the design of
your classroom to the use of a simple yellow tablet.
'Full of unpredictable twists' The Times. She is outside your front
door. She got on the train after a difficult week at work. Her bag

theft, her mind went blank. She couldn't even remember her name.
She says she lives in your house. Now she's outside Tony and
Laura's front door. She is certain she lives in their home. But
they have never met her before. Would you let her in? 'Gripping,

""This then is a book of mountaineering, not presenting the
Canadian Rockies in their entirety -- no single volume will ever do
that -- but including many of the finest things. It is also a book
of mountain travel, under conditions such as perhaps the European
traveller experienced in the Alps during the Eighteenth Century.
Finally, it is a book of mountain history; for here is Geography in
the making, and with a tradition behind it -- a story that has
never been properly gathered together, and whose details, in part
at least, are gone forever."" -- from the Preface by J. Monroe
Thorington Completely re-edited, re-designed and containing with an
impressive collection of archival photos and maps, "The Glittering
Mountains of Canada" is a must-read for anyone interested in
mountain literature. The book's position in the pantheon of outdoor
writing as a "classic" is only further enhanced and supported by
the passionate Foreword by well-known mountain historian and
environmental writer Robert William Sandford, who urges the
contemporary reader to embrace Thorington's belief in the
importance of landscape and the poetry of place. This is a book
that deserves to be read and appreciated alongside the work of
Wallace Stegner, Henry David Thoreau and Sid Marty.

Five years ago, Rosa walked to the pier in the dead of night,
looked into the swirling water, and jumped. She was a brilliant
Cambridge student who had just lost her father. Her death was
tragic, but not unexpected. Was that what really happened? The
coroner says it was suicide. But Rosa's boyfriend Jar can't let go.
He sees Rosa everywhere - a face on the train, a figure on the
cliff. He is obsessed with proving that she is still alive. And
then he gets an email. Find me, Jar. Find me, before they do...
He looks the same. He looks like a stranger. Super recognisers are
born with the ability to remember a face forever, even from a
single glance. Kate was one of them. She worked for the police,
using her gift to spot criminals and save lives. Then came the
accident. Deprived of her abilities after a devastating car crash,
Kate found refuge in a new relationship. She met Rob in hospital,
and he nursed her back to health in his beautiful house in
Cornwall. But now something feels horribly wrong. Rob looks the
same, but Kate feels certain: the man she fell in love with has
been replaced by an impostor. Is this the paranoia of a damaged
mind? Or is it Kate's old instinct, screaming one last warning?

thriller is perfect for fans of J.P. Delaney and Louise Candlish.
