Faith and Public Policy turns the spotlight on the role of faith in
the public square and the spiritual consequences of public
policymaking. The work brings together fourteen of America's most
respected writers on the intersection of faith and public policy to
discuss the changing roles of government, church, education, and
the family. Chapters investigate such issues as inner city
programs, the secularization of faith-based programs, the impact of
tax policy on the family, and the status of school vouchers.
Contributions by Steve Forbes and William E. Simon illustrate the
deep personal faith that informs and fuels the public leadership of
America's leading thinkers and political figures. Readers will find
Faith and Public Policy a timely and vigorous conversation on the
commingling of government and religion in America, a country eager
to return to the Founding Generation's idea of a nation in covenant
with God.
U.S. Air Force Chaplain Jack Stanley shares how he helps others to
prepare, fight, and win victory over the battles of life as
warriors for God. Good for Bible study groups and as a resource for
Chaplains.
Chaplain Stanley has provided a practical study guide on Ephesians,
couched in the military terms of spiritual combat. The book is well
illustrated with the author's personal experiences and with
examples from a wide range of resources. The chapters end with
reflective questions that can be used by individual readers or
those involved in a group study. "Stand Strong" will appeal to a
wide range of audiences from high school and college students to
adults.
Jack and Liam, fed up with kiss-my-arse bosses and nose-to-nipple
commutes, quit their jobs and move to a small town in Turkey. Join
the culture-curious gay couple on their bumpy rite of passage in a
Muslim country. Meet the oddballs, VOMITs, vetpats, emigreys,
semigreys, debauched waiters and middle England miseries. When
bigotry and ignorance emerge from the crude underbelly of Turkey's
expat life, Jack and Liam waver. Determined to stay the course, the
happy hedonistas hitch up their skirts, move to the heart of
liberal Bodrum and fall in love with their intoxicating foster
land. Enter Jack's irreverent world for a right royal dose of
misery and joy, bigotry and enlightenment, betrayal and loyalty,
friendship, love, earthquakes, birth, adoption and a senseless
murder. Perking the Pansies will make you laugh out loud one minute
and sob into your crumpled tissue the next. "Scott pulls no
punches. A good read and hopefully the first of many by new boy on
the block." Jane Akatay, journalist "An insightful tale of life
abroad - with a twist - from the pen of a serial people watcher.
Expat Jack lays his characters bare along with his heart and soul,
'' Kym Ciftci, On the Ege Magazine, Ontheege.com "Jack and Liam
bring a certain je ne sais quoi to the souks and heap a plate of
dry British wit to their Ottoman misadventures," Charles Ayres,
author, Impossibly Glamorous Impossiblyglamorous.com ..".
hilarious, saucy, witty, heartwarming and incredibly moving,
Perking the Pansies is chock full of odd characters and odder
situations. Jack Scott has a way with words and proves that it is
the relationships we surround ourselves with that matter most,"

5 DVD set, featuring 88 live performances by 36 rock n' roll
artists, from one of America's most popular TV shows. Filmed live
at 'Little Darlin's', Kissimmee, Florida, aka 'The Rock N' Roll
Palace', artists featured include, Del Shannon, Jerry Lee Lewis,
The Coasters and The Dixie Cups.
Jack Scott cut a couple of great rockabilly 45s for ABC/Paramount
to begin his career, and Scott's two biggest hits, "What in the
World's Come Over You" and "Burning Bridges," were recorded
directly after his stay at Carlton Records. But it's generally
conceded by rockabilly fans that the majority of his best and most
lasting work was cut for that label between 1958 and 1960. This
26-track compilation makes a nice one-stop for the casual Scott fan
who doesn't want to opt for Bear Family's massive multi-disc box
set, as it's loaded with great rockers like "The Way I Walk,"
"Leroy," "Goodbye Baby," and his first big hit, "My True Love." But
the non-inclusion of his two biggest hits and his early rockabilly
singles keep this one from being the definitive package, although
it's great listening all the way. ~ Cub Koda
