Serving in the United States Navy in 2008 onboard USS Ronald Reagan
(CVN 76) was my first visit to the Philippines in the humanitarian
relief effort of Typhoon Fengshen. How could I forget that hot day
in June. As we pulled into the South China Sea I could not believe
the things that my eyes were seeing. Seeing people lose everything
they had in this tragedy, their homes and families, reminded me of
Hurricane Katrina in my country the United States of America. So I
made a promise to one day go back and visit the Philippines to
myself and several of my Filipino Kuyas & Ates that I met while
in the Navy. It is now 2013 and I fulfilled my promise and my life
will never be the same. Philippine Dream "More Rice
Jamal..".reveals hard truths of daily living and hope for a better
tomorrow. This inspired me to reconsider my lifestyle in my Great
country of America. I saw the Dream in their eyes and I saw the
light of hope in their heart. I am blessed that the Creator of the
Universe allowed a country boy like me from Columbia,
Mississippi...to share to the world what this Dream is all about.

Living below the mountains of Pikes Peak in Manitou Springs,
Colorado; gave me the chance to appreciate the natural beauty that
this earth has to offer. I see our women as earth...and until this
generation can appreciate the natural Aazeen of our women, we will
overlook the total offering of them. In my journey I have been
inspired by the Aazeens that I have met, they are creative,
ambitious, spiritually gifted and have a great appreciation of
Life. I am honored to share their Scenes of Life so you may be
inspired as well. If the natural gifts of our women are exposed in
a more consistent manner then our young princesses can truly aspire
to be Queens. To the "One" that I first called Aazeen, thank you
for inspiring these writings...you know who you are. Jamal...
It was an honor to serve my country with my younger brother
Lawrence in the United States Navy and briefly onboard the same
ship USS Ronald Reagan; nuclear aircraft carrier CVN-76. Writing is
a vehicle that takes the reader on a journey; here you will find me
on a quest of spirituality, professional development, staying
independent yet keeping in mind the never ending duty of social
responsibility. My Journey...Our Mission...is a combination of my
first two books Life Through My Eyes Distracted Generation and
Heart of a King Promise to Ancestors. It is truly "Our Mission" to
keep current and future generations from being "Distracted" by
having the "Heart" to champion uncomfortable challenges, just as
our many ancestors.
Irish Rose Lowe is a rare jewel that endured tremendous obstacles
that's very difficult to survive. An absent father, ruined
marriage, a victim of drug abuse adds to the list of thorns that
bruised her life. However, with a strong single mother in Delores
Abram & her unwavering faith in God, she was able to withstand
it all. Now her life is given as a "Rose of Victory" to individuals
that deal with similar life threatening problems & awareness to
those who are not familiar with the variety of strongholds this
jewel withstood. This is an American story of a woman whose roots
are linked to Black Creek Indians and the Gullah/Geechee people
that suffered chattel slavery in early United States history. Just
as our ancestors she is an image of strength & I am grateful to
see my mother's life given as a testament of undeniable Victory
against all odds. The story of her life will benefit millions of
people around the world particularly those who deal with
unimaginable daily struggles and no hope in sight. When many wanted
to shove her life under a rug and erase her from History, I am very
grateful that the Creator of Life whispered to the ancient scribes
saying, "Victory is Mine " Jamal R. Lowe
If there ever was a time that our 21st century era of sports could
benefit from golden history lessons, it is now. The ancient Epic of
Gilgamesh reveal truths of great value from a legendary hero king,
the epigrams from Marcus Martialis capture the heart of Roman
gladiators & inspirational icon Nelson Mandela embraced sports
with a wise gesture in the name of peace. Sweetness in Air by Favre
metaphorically defines the heroic legends of those that inspired my
life in the "Magnolia South." The wise should consider their
immortal efforts in their respective craft & approach
challenges with heart, determination & will to succeed.
Aspiring poets also have a great opportunity to utilize the
literary platform to inspire & heal where everyone can
win....or decay where no one wins. Walter Payton, Brett Favre &
Steve McNair won my respect & admiration for the great
humanitarians that they are.
As I look back through the memories of history, I see a people
struggling but moving forward. Following the guidance of their
instinctive universe and sheer defiance from within. Responsibility
was always a necessity even in the face of adversity. In this new
age of thinking, new age of living, new age of style. Our moral
judgement has resembled the Ozone layer, depleting by the chemical
toxins of greed, arrogance and hate. As much as I would like to
enjoy the splendor of this Earth, I find that it is necessary to
reignite the fundamental infrastructure that equals self respect.
That was my promise to my ancestors and that is the duty of
humanity
Life Through My Eyes briefly reveals to you of how our Creator
carried me through tough times, rooting from Columbia Mississippi
to Diego Garcia; just a few major global pit stops in my life's
journey. All I can do is give it to you as I have seen it and tell
it to you as I know it Society can be very distracting at times so
I intentionally summarized my 28 years of life so everyone will
have a sincere chance to read the shared events. I sincerely hope
that I can reach at least one person in this lifetime by
formulating hope and initiating love through knowledge
