Another crime novel by JD Benish. It's a fiction based on actual events. JD will keep you on the edge of your seat as the main character, Will Garrett, is holding evidence that can get him killed. As a retired cop Will is a confidant of numerous police officers who depend on Will to keep their information safe. The death of an assistant DA who was in charge of drug cases is suspicious. JD takes you from the crime scene to the DA's office, and finally to the mind of the man who intends to kill Will. Will is a hardcore rough gruff PI who will stop at nothing to bring the criminals to justice. The sexual exploits within the legal community are fueled by passion and greed. Will survives numerous attempts on his life but his chances of survival are slim when the most feared hit man in the country is hired to kill him. The ending will surprise you.
"Closed Eyes; Who's Killing Our Children" is a story of four individual child abductions that have found no closure for the families to this day. This is a factual story with an emotional element that starts with a cold case investigation into the abduction of seven year-old little Tracey Neef from the grounds of her school in 1984. Tracey was found raped and dead a few short hours later in the cold of a Colorado winter. The author follows a trail of the bodies of children left behind by a skilled pedophilic predator and culminates with the murder and rape of JonBenet Ramsey. As each crime is researched numerous suspects surface. Circumstances, witness statements and trace evidence point to only one of these suspects. Although the author has obtained a legal opinion that the public has a right to know the identity of this suspect, his last name has been deleted from the manuscript. James Benish presents the facts of these cold case child murders in sequential order from the time of the abductions, through the years of neglected follow-ups, ignored leads, and dismissal of evidence and testimony that have left these murders in the ranks of the unsolved. This is the first time in recent history that anyone has suggested with credible logic, that there is a serial killer loose in Colorado.
This novel is based on the discovery of a single suspect when in 1993 the author (a detective) opens the cold case murder of Tracy Neef. This murder occurred in 1984. To the author's surprise there is a clear suspect that had been questioned in 1984, but erroneously categorized as having an alibi. The author weeds through old case files and discovers how the investigation was hampered with confusion, mistakes and lack of expertise. There is microscopic evidence that indicates the perpetrator might be a welder. This suspect's occupation was as a welder. The author learns that there are similar welding particles left behind in other cases. The author interviews the suspect who lies when asked key questions. The author discovers that the suspect's previous arrests and sightings put him in close proximity to the Tracy Neef, Alie Berrelez, and JonBenet crime scenes. On July 9th 2008 the Boulder DA states that DNA has eliminated the Ramsey family as suspects in JonBenet's murder. The author believes that this suspect is a serial offender and is responsible for the murder of Tracey Neef, the abduction and assault of Michalel Chandler and the Murder of Ali Berrelez. The author believes that this suspect should be vigorously considered as a suspect in the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. The families deserve closure. The public has a right to know. The suspect has not been charged and is roaming our streets.
