James Campbell is worried about the planet – aren’t we all?
Well, he’s decided to do something about it. This book is all
about his REAL-LIFE experience living off the land in an off-grid
caravan and finding inventive (and sometimes downright bizarre)
ways to reduce his environmental impact. And in it, he's going to
share his tips and tricks on how to STOP panicking and START saving
the planet! Get ready to hear about: - How animal farts are causing
us BIG problems (besides the stench) - How many hundreds of baths
you could take with the water used to make a car - The time Grandpa
fell into a swirling vat of poo and lived to tell the tale - Why
insects might soon be on the menu - How you can petition people in
power to stand up to climate change and start an eco-revolution -
AND MUCH, MUCH MORE! Full-to-the-brim with funny stories,
interesting facts, silly ideas, real-life experiences and hilarious
illustrations, this book is perfect for anyone who loved James and
Rob's bestselling, award-winning 'The Funny Life of' series,
complete with their trademark humour and randomness. Perfect for
any child who wants to swap being an eco-WORRIER for being an
eco-WARRIOR!

A volume in Stress and Quality of Working Life Series Editors Ana
Maria Rossi, International Stress Management Association, James
Campbell (Jim) Quick, The University of Texas at Arlington and
Pamela L. Perrewe, Florida State University This book offers twelve
chapters organized into three major sections that address
occupational stress and quality of working life. The authors are an
internationally renowned team of scholar-research-practitioners who
are grounded in applied science and clinical practice. Section 1
includes five chapters that address the organizational and
individual costs of occupational stress. The costs are humanitarian
and economic; both human suffering and financial burdens are
important. Section 2 includes three chapters that focus on ways to
mitigate the negative effects of occupational stress. We must help
those who are suffering but we must do more by preventing distress
where we can and building on positive, strength factors where
possible. Section 3 includes four chapters that examine and expand
our understanding of work life quality. Work life quality is so
important because of the effects it has on workers and leaders, as
well as the spillover impact into families and communities. These
twelve chapters, highlight both core knowledge and new developments
within the rapidly growing field of research on stress and the
quality of working life. We believe this information can help to
raise awareness of the causes and costs of occupational stress and
poor quality of working life. Further, this should provide a
challenge, some incentive, and renewed insight for organizations in
Brazil and elsewhere to begin thinking about and acting in ways
that lead to a less stressful environment for their workforce.

This volume is composed of extended versions of selected papers
presented at an international conference held in June 2011 at Opole
University-the seventh in a series of annual American and European
Values conferences organized by the Institute of Philosophy, Opole
University, Poland. The papers were written independently with no
prior guidelines other than the obvious need to address some aspect
of George Herbert Mead's work. While rooted in careful study of
Mead's original writings and transcribed lectures and the
historical context in which that work was carried out, these papers
have brought that work to bear on contemporary issues in
metaphysics, epistemology, cognitive science, and social and
political philosophy. There is good reason to classify Mead as one
of the original classical American pragmatists (along with Charles
Peirce, William James, and John Dewey) and consequently as a major
figure in American philosophy. Nevertheless his thought has been
marginalized for the most part, at least in academic philosophy. It
is our intention to help recuperate Mead's reputation among a
broader audience by providing a small corpus of significant
contemporary scholarship on some key aspects of his thought.
