1765. The following lectures were begun by the author when he was a
tutor in St. John's College in Cambridge; but he was prevented from
finishing the comprehensive plan which the reader will find laid
down in the beginning of them, by being called from this employment
in College to the service of Archbishop Potter. They were, however,
so nearly completed that the author, had he lived, intended to have
published them himself. They are now faithfully printed from his
manuscript copy without the least addition or alteration. Due to
the age and scarcity of the original we reproduced, some pages may
be spotty, faded or difficult to read. Written in Old English.
Due to the very old age and scarcity of this book, many of the
pages may be hard to read due to the blurring of the original text.
