Born out of the early-90s Chicago metal-industrial music scene
carved out by Ministry and Wax Trax! Records, Acumen (later Acumen
Nation after a band name dispute) released their first album on
Fifth Colvmn Records in 1995. Branching out into electronic music
focusing heavily on drum 'n' bass, front man Jason Novak and
guitarist Jamie Duffy created the group DJ? Acucrack in 1997.
Forming their own label, Cracknation Records allowed the group to
release their other projects including Iron Lung Corp. (comprised
of Acumen Nation and The Clay People members), shoe gaze rocking
Fawn, and progressive metal group Czar. This companion to Rally And
Sustain: The Cracknation Documentary DVD chronicles the postings
and tour journals from front man Jason Novak and co-conspirator
Jamie Duffy from their earliest tours with Clay People and Skrew,
through their later adventures with KMFDM and Front Line Assembly.
