It's something we encounter daily; both in our working lives and leisure time, and is as essential a part of our culture as the written word. As something that is both inherently desirable and necessary for a full life, it's a valuable commodity, and traded as such all over the world. The development of the music as an industry was itself a fundamental process in the way consumers accessed music, brought about by the desire of composers and performers in the 18th century to free themselves of the restrictions on their work that were imposed by the princes and bishops who sponsored them. In realizing that people were willing to pay for the privilege of hearing or playing their music, they sold their works in print and charged for their performances, and thus bought their artistic freedom. At present the industry is going through a period of great change. The introduction of the digital download market has meant re-thinking of business models and finding new sources of revenue, as well as new ways in which to protect interests. It's tempting to see such periods of change as deeply negative but the industry has gone through many such periods, and has continued to flourish and adjust itself over the decades. In this term paper I will discuss the recent changes within the music industry and how this is effecting the monetization of intellectual property. I will focus on the two main groups, labels and artists, while pointing out the effects and opportunities of these changes for each of them. Germany's semiconductor industry has become a major global partner and driver of development and research of LED technology. While manufacturers from Asia are posing as competition for most of the western world in LED production, Germany's market has maintained a relatively strong position primarily due to high demand in its large automotive sector. In this market brief we analyse the entry requirements and opportunities for foreign firms willing to enter the German market. Presentation skills and public speaking skills are very useful in many aspects of work and life, may they be in business, sales and selling, training, teaching, lecturing and generally entertaining an audience. Developing the confidence and capability to give good presentations, and to stand up in front of an audience and speak well, are also extremely helpful competencies for self development. Even if the formats and purposes of presentations vary significantly, for example: oral (spoken), multimedia (using various media, visuals, audio, etc), PowerPoint presentations, short impromptu presentations, long planned presentations, educational or training sessions, lectures, or simply giving a talk on a subject to a group on a voluntary basis for pleasure, all successful presentations will generally use the essential techniques and structures explained here. Aside from presentation, technique, confidence, experience and preparation are key factors. This paper will give you a good overview of key presentation and public speaking elements, aspects to consider while preparing and useful pointers for the final delivery. In the second part I will touch on the subject of speaking to an international audience while the final segment will touch on the importance of presentation and public speaking skills in today's business world.
