in 1911 McKimmon became North Carolina's first state home demonstration agent. In those days the home agent was a combination of errand girl, family counselor, emergency nurse, and instructor in housekeeping techniques. This is the story of the people with whom McKimmon worked for twenty-six years in the capacity of a home demonstration agent.
