Interviewing nearly 30 of the Aldermaston potters, many of whom
have written some fascinating submissions about this incredible
workshop. The book features a wonderful, previously unpublished,
account from Geoffrey Eastop's memoirs, about how he came to
Aldermaston and helped to establish the pottery with Alan
Caiger-Smith in the mid 1950s. The book tells the story of the 51
years of the Aldermaston Pottery, through the words and experiences
of as many of the potters as possible, whilst also chronicling
Alan's own achievements over the decades. The images also play an
important part in telling the story. The book also follows the
subsequent careers of the potters, and tell how they went on to
make a difference, and to sustain the maiolica tradition, all over
the world. As there has never been a book published that has traced
the career of this important figure or the life of the pottery, or
the 60 people who worked and trained there, and there are very few
photographic records of this lost way of working, this book will
fill that gap in the history of 20th century studio pottery.

Revised and updated with the most current USEF rules and tests,
Judging Hunters and Hunter Seat Equitation is the world's favorite
book on how to judge hunter show competitions, and understand
exactly how they are judged. This must-have resource gives anyone
competing in or judging hunter or equitation classes the edge, with
professionally reviewed and approved sections that examine: -
Conformation: structural composition; physical defects versus
blemishes. - Hunters Under Saddle and Over Fences: length of
stride, frame, and straightness; rhythm, transitions, impulsion,
and bending; locomotion and form faults; honest and dishonest
horses. - Equitation on the Flat and Over Fences: rider position;
cadence, collection, and lengthening; approaching fences and in the
air; USEF tests. Written with both the aspiring judge and the avid
competitor in mind, the book offers invaluable explanations of what
judges look for as well as the training methods necessary to
accomplish the desired results. More than 100 color photographs
with top equestrians in the tack demonstrate correct and incorrect
positions in both horses and riders, sharpening the reader's eyes
while also providing an unparalleled foundation of knowledge that
makes self-correction in the saddle possible. In addition, readers
will find a primer on both understanding and completing the Judge's
Card, with explanations of numerical scoring, terminology,
abbreviations, symbols, comments, and general impressions. This
remarkably complete two-in-one reference can be the difference in
your success, whether in the ring or in the judge's box.

Tait and White provide a much-needed introduction to the complex
field of critical care nursing for undergraduate and postgraduate
students. Covering the essential aspects of critical care nursing,
students are asked to consider the biopsychosocial triggers of
critical illness, and are walked through a number of different
patient scenarios. Reacting to the Francis Report and other
inquiries into standards of care, Tait and White's humanising
approach to critical care places equal emphasis on the 'head, hand
and heart' knowledge; evidence, technical and ethical. The book's
depth of clinical knowledge is built and cemented through extended
case studies of critically ill patients with a variety of needs.
This breadth, along with the author's unique approach prepares
students for courses and assignments in critical care, as well as
preparing critical care nurses for clinical decision making and
practice. A must-have for anyone studying or working in critical
care nursing.

The No 1 Bestseller When Irish food writer Susan Jane White was
advised to stay away from wheat, dairy and refined sugar during a
debilitating illness, her food future seemed bleak, bland and
boring. So, drawing on her gastronomic background, she created
seriously tasty recipes that didn't compromise her health. The
result? Susan Jane's energy levels went through the roof and her
friends and family began to look for her 'free-from' recipes
whether or not they had intolerances. Inside is a collection of
Susan Jane's most loved recipes. Dishes like Maple Cardamom
Peaches, Bond Girl Salad and Banana Toffee Ice Cream, all so full
of flavour that you would never believe they are 'free from'
anything. 'Susan Jane White is Caitlin Moran, Nigella and Jesus put
through a Vitamix and left to rest until chilled.' Daisy Wood-Davis
