The Spanish novel in a turbulent century. This collection of
studies by eighteen prominent theorists and critics offers a
diverse panorama of the modern Spanish novel seen through the prism
of Spain's recent political, cultural and ideological history. It
considers the development of the novel as a social mirror and as a
changing literary form, torn between the tradition of stern realism
and the aesthetics of rupture affecting all Western literature from
the Avant-Garde to the Postmodern age. While some essays emphasise
the Spanish cultural context and canonical writers, others are of a
broader nature, grouping lesser-known writers under certain
literary tendencies: the metaphysical novel, the urban novel,
recuperative accounts of the Civil War, feminine first-person
narrations, and the rise of the popular detective, historical, and
erotic novels. Three studies address the resurgence of the Catalan,
Basque and Galician novel and their departure from a poetics of
identity to one of global concerns. Interdisciplinary approaches
address the reciprocal impacts of literature and cinema, and the
effects of the marketplace on the consumption of fiction are not
forgotten. The Companion provides ample bibliographies and a
valuable chronology, while all titles and quotations are translated
into English. Contributors: Marta E. Altisent, Katarzyna Olga

In life, we all face trials and go through tribulations. Guard It
is my testimony about the issues that I faced from birth up to now
that I thought was the end for me. Yet it was during many of those
issues that I saw the hand of God over my life orchestrating my
every move even when I took wrong turns. Guard It is just my heart
put on paper for people, especially woman to know that they are not
alone and for them to learn that Guarding our hearts and trusting
God is what helps us ensure that the issues that flow from our
hearts do not have to defeat us but instead; can make us the very
light that God needs us to be in a dark world!
This is a ninety-day devotional that was designed to encourage you
in your walk as a believer. I currently write a daily devotional on
Facebook and these are my Facebook posts that I have taken and
placed into a book as many of my followers requested. 1 Timothy
3:16-17 says, "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for
teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so
that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good
work." I want to equip you for your faith journey as a believer. I
pray you hear the heart of God as you read the words on the paper.
Lean not on your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge
God and He will direct your path. The more of the Word you put
inside of you, the more your faith grows. I pray that this
devotional feeds your faith and that because of it your spirit man
gets built up.
Butterfly Faith is a book about Hope, Faith, and how they coincide
with God's purpose for our lives. God is a God of purpose and He
created each person with a plan in mind. No one was created just
because God was bored. God has a purpose for every person. The
butterfly has a purpose because God created it and God never makes
anything without knowing why he made it first. So if you are trying
to figure out why you were created, allow God to minister to your
spirit. God says in His word that He has a plan for each of us.
Plans to prosper us. Plans to give us a Hope and a future. Hope
fuels faith and faith moves us closer to our purpose. Without faith
it is impossible to please God. The revelation that I received from
the Holy Spirit allowed me to pen how our faith correlates with the
process the caterpillar goes through in order to fulfill its
purpose. Just like the caterpillar we too can emerge into our
purpose if we don't lose hope, keep the faith and pursue God for
our purpose. Seek Him first always.
To every woman who finds herself in a wilderness season... this
book, is for you. In this book I talk about the power of our words
and how we can birth the wrong things if we are not careful when we
our coming out of the wilderness season or even going into the
wilderness. Words have power! So use God's word and speak life.
Nobel Prize-winning Spanish author ("La familia de Pascual Duarte")
known for his vivid and often grotesque imagery, he is also famous
for his experimental novelistic techniques.
