Para argumentar esta hipotesis se analizan los principales hitos historicos que hicieron posible la revolucion economica, asi como el rol decisivo que tuvo la Universidad Catolica, el periodico El Mercurio y los denominados Chicago Boys. El libro revisa tambien los Decretos Leyes que hicieron posible el cambio de modelo, y la evolucion de Jaime Guzman, motivada por la necesidad de adaptar su filosofia al neoliberalismo que defendia Pinochet."
