La presente obra aborda el concepto de gobernanza (governance)el cual adquiere cada vez mas relevancia en los debates teoricos y en la practica politica como nuevo modo de gestionar las politicas publicas, a partir de las transformaciones del Estado. Brinda una perspectiva para analizar la complejidad del proceso de toma de decisiones, asumiendo la pluralidad para el diseno e implementacion de las politicas publicas, asi como las transformaciones de los organos gubernamentales y de gestion publica, a partir de la emergencia de nuevas formas de gestion en red para resolver los problemas colectivos. El libro aborda las siguientes cuatro tematicas; i) La discusion teorica sobre el estudio de estas nuevas formas de regulacion politica de las sociedades modernas, ii) El analisis del papel de actores locales y el desarrollo de trabajo en red para el diseno e implementacion de politicas publicas, iii) La participacion ciudadana en la gestion de distintos tipos de redes de politica y de gestion ciudadana, iv) El peso especifico de los gobiernos regionales y locales como protagonistas de la accion publica y su interaccion con los niveles internacionales, nacionales y subnacionales de gobierno"
