The deception of Satan that there are many ways to God is heard in
every quarter today from many prominent individuals. However, that
does not mean that it is true. Jesus said of Himself, "I am the
way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through Me" (John 14:6). Only one way, not many ways, is available
for sinful humanity; and because of their sin, only God Himself
could provide that way. Sin caused alienation and separation from a
holy God, making it totally impossible for humankind to stand in
His presence. He did, through the shedding of His Son's precious,
sinless blood, make redemption available to the whole world. The
blood of Jesus runs through the entire eternal plan of God for
salvation; there is no other way
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? True Christianity is under siege in America
today Satan has spread two of the most evil deceptions in his
arsenal, secular humanism No - God] in our society and institutions
and religious Christianity No -- Spirit] in the churches. Both deny
Christ's finished work of grace (divine favor). Things are looking
bleak to many people seeking reality They realize that Satan and
his kingdom of darkness are behind America's chaotic world systems.
Notice, our world of politics, world of social action and justice,
world of education, world of finances, world of marriage and the
family, world of sports, even the world of weather are distorted
and corrupted. For the past century, we have stood by blindly as
Satan has secularized our society and religionized many of our
Christian churches. God's people must stand in the gap for this
great nation There is hope God is meeting the needs with abundance
of living grace, through the restored power of the Holy Spirit and
restored truths of His Word; making leaders and their people the
true salt and light through inward transformation and embracing the
restored teaching and reality of living grace the finished work of
Christ], and right relationships in Him. Thus, God is rising up
anointed Para-ministries among professing Christians; and churches
who are hearing what the Spirit is saying to the churches. Nothing
is too hard for God
CHANGE: is is the one thing you can count on in these exciting and
discouraging times. Fueled by the bizarre pace of technological
inovation, transitions are taking place in society and the church
in ways that we have never seen before. Beginning with the fact of
four generations living at the same time; each with their unique
ideas and change; accompanied by a generational breakdown in
understanding and communications. In the past the church was a
reliable moral compass for society. But today with the self-imposed
isolation inside the four walls of of brick, Satan is left to his
device of blinding the minds of men lest they believe the glorious
gospel of eternal salvation. He has been able to spread a cloak of
darkness over our Western culture. Darkness is not knowing, the
real purpose and nature of things. For example: What is the source
of man and his world? Where have man and his world come from? What
is the purpose of man in the world? Why do man and his world exist?
What is the end of man and his world? Light is knowing, God and His
Son, the authentic Jesus Christ, who stands as the Source of
purpose and end of man and his world. Further, light is to know the
truth and reality of man and his world that God created all for
Himself. That He loves and saves all to live with Him eternally --
if we will only believe and trust Him. Today there is a tension
between the world and the Word. The authentic Christ is the only
hope for the world -- Give Me Jesus

Many congregations and church leaders are faced with the collapse
of the institutional church culture in America. A great number of
them have retreated inside their four walls and created church
activities to replace their Christ-given mission to make disciples,
and thereby extending His kingdom on earth "thy kingdom come."
Abandoning their mission means they have abandoned their real
identity and reason for existence. Others have gone to the other
extreme by selling out to the culture. Their worship service is a
form of entertainment with the objective "to feel good" and "be
happy." Both choices have turned off many saved people, and they
have left the church. In 1998, a Barna poll reflected that 20
million born-again Christians had withdrawn their membership.
Today's poll shows an increase to 115,000 million. Many are out
there striving to reboost the church's lost mission "to make
disciples" and "thy kingdom come." God has not changed His mind
At the beginning of His earthly ministry, Jesus recognized that in
addition to the kingdom of God, another kingdom was operating here
on the earth, the kingdom of Satan. The two would be in conflict
with each other. While in heaven, as the angel Lucifer, Satan,
tried to usurp Jesus's power and position. God removed him from
heaven, but not before he had drawn away a third of the angels.
Satan continues his battle today, but now it's for the hearts of
God's people. Many Christians are drawn away from their godly
spirituality through Satan's deceptions and their own lack of
biblical knowledge and the stability of a viable biblical
worldview. In Matthew 4:1-11, Jesus demonstrated how we are to
interact with both kingdoms and counter Satan's ungodly brand of
spirituality. First, He showed us that He lived to please God.
Second, He defeated Satan through dependence on the Holy Spirit and
the spoken Word of God. Third, He made that same authority and
power available to us corporately and individually. We must never
attempt anything for God with them (see Acts 1:8). As His church,
our evangelism must seek authentic salvation for our converts that
consists of two components: conversion and conservation. We
encourage our new converts to come to Jesus just as they are, but
we are not to allow them to remain that way. They must grow up into
mature disciples. The church is to carry His commission and "make
disciples" (see Matthew 28:18-20). Jesus emphasizes the church's
obedience and completion of two activities before any amount of
success can be measured: "baptizing" and "teaching." Here again, we
find Satan trying to defeat God's purpose. As mature disciples, we
are to victoriously and gloriously live and practice a true godly
spirituality in all areas of our lives as examples before the new
disciples that counters Satan's ungodly spirituality.
In the midst of all the confusion, despair, and destruction of
moral truth, many people ask these questions: Where is Jesus
Christ? Where are hisfoundational institutions in the world? How
does he interface with the many facades and problems of society in
this twenty-first century?
In "Behold the Man," author Jay R. Leach shows that Jesus Christ
is at work today exactly as he was during his lifetime as a man on
earth twothousand years ago. Through scriptural examples, stories,
and anecdotes, Leach describes how Jesus carries out the same
loving and caring, reconciliatory, eternal plan of God just as he
did through a physical body. Leach teaches that Jesus now works
through a multifaceted corporate body known as the church, whose
ministry is the same humanity Jesus attended to, experiencing the
same issues, attitudes, and problems.
"Behold the Man" communicates that Jesus is among mankind today
incarnate in ordinary Christian men, women, girls, and
boys-energizingour spirits, imparting his truth into our hearts,
infusing resurrection power in us, and working his purpose through
us in the world.
Many churches today have become ineffective to the kingdom of God
because they no longer obey the mandate from our Lord, Jesus
Christ. While many churches are boasting about numbers and
membership, the actual purpose of the Christian church, making
disciples, seems to have gotten lost or overlooked. Using
illustrations and down-to-earth language, Jay Leach unlocks
practical principles that illustrate the growth of a disciple from
rebirth to maturity. Not only will we enjoy eternal life in the
future, but we will enjoy eternal life here and now. How? By
knowing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In the Bible, knowing carries with it the connotation of
intimacy. To enjoy eternal life now, we must have a knowing and
intimate relationship with Christ. Relationship and intimacy bring
with them the creation of a new nature and purpose, of forward
movement to a fruitful adult discipleship; they also provide a
clear understanding of salvation and the process of growing into a
mature disciple. The church can provide nurture through small
groups and other team-building ministries, but to become a disciple
requires a personal commitment. "How Should We Then Live?" will
explain how to form this very special relationship with Jesus
Christ.
