One Step At A Time is a five-part method of teaching the
fundamentals of music on the violin. It is written in a way that is
logical, sequential, and easy to understand. The success of this
approach is in its simplicity. The writing of this series is the
culmination of many years of teaching, and is based on carefully
considered pedagogical principles. Book IV is a sequel to Books I,
II, and III, continuing with intermediate melodious tunes and
technical exercises using THE THREE-FOUR and TRI-TONE FINGER
PATTERNS. As with the first three books, the fundamental concepts
are introduced on uncluttered pages. In this book, students play in
all keys, still focusing on finger patterns, and not letter names
or sharps and flats. The Teacher's Score includes piano
accompaniments to all the music in VIOLIN BOOK III of One Step at a
Time, by Jennie Lou Klim. These parts were written, edited, and/or
arranged by Harriett C. Miller. The level of complexity follows the
progress of the student. There are no tempo markings, so the
teacher can select the tempo best suited for each individual
student.
