Facts are everything to eleven-year-old Freddie Yates: once you
know a fact it's yours to keep. After his grandmother dies and
Freddie discovers his biological father might be alive and well in
Wales, he decides to follow the facts. Together with his best
friends, Ben and Charlie, he sneaks off on the adventure of a
lifetime (or at least, the summer holidays) to track down his
father. Freddie doesn't expect any miracles. But when the three
unwittingly set off a chain of inexplicable events via an
onion-eating competition, a few superhero costumes, and a group of
very angry antique thieves, Freddie discovers that some things
can't always be explained-and sometimes what you're looking for has
been with you the whole time. Propulsive and hilarious, The Super
Miraculous Journey of Freddie Yates is a heartwarming story about
the true meaning of family.

Freddie Yates likes facts. Just not the one staring him in the face -
that his secret plan is not, in fact, secret.
Because Freddie's journey wasn't meant to involve Big Trev and the
onion-eating competition or the loo-exploding pear-and-potato
turnovers. And Freddie definitely didn't expect to end up, with his two
best friends, on national television in a supergirl costume.
But journeys never take you where you think they will. And for Freddie,
that fact might just have to be enough...
The super funny, heart-warming adventure of three boys, one summer
holiday, and a few miracles along the way.
"My hope is that this book will help to open up a new readership
for [Charles Rycroft]--not a following, which is the last thing he
would want, but an open-minded readership of people who want
encouragement to go on thinking their own way through the deeply
liberating experience of psychotherapy. There are plenty of people
around who are willing to tell us what psychotherapy is, what
happens or should happen between therapist and patient, what
happens between mothers and babies and so on. There are not so many
who encourage therapists to be in "uncertainties, mysteries,
doubts, without any irritable reaching after fact and reason," in
the words Charles liked to quote from the poet John Keats. This is
the creative position, the one in which it is possible to go on
asking the question "What is psychotherapy?" without necessarily
finding an answer to it." -- From the IntroductionCharles Rycroft's
lucid jargon-free approach to psychoanalysis inspired a whole
generation. Taking inspiration from many fields outside
psychoanalysis, including history, literature, linguistics and
ethology, he established the important link between mental health
and the imagination, creating a broader perspective and encouraging
free thinking. This solitary and creative "rebel" rarely received
the recognition he deserved, but this collection of articles and
papers by people who felt the benefit of his ever-curious,
expanding wealth of knowledge, goes some way to acknowledging the
debt owed to him, and introducing a new generation to this
innovative analyst.Contributors include Margaret Arden, Harold

most valuable resource be, and can they find it in time to stop the
Nurgles exterminating the Earth?! A hilarious and heartfelt tale
from Lollie-award-winning author Jenny Pearson.

A record-smashing, feel-good adventure packed with heart, humour
and Guinness World Records from Costa Award-shortlisted JENNY
PEARSON, and Kid Normal illustrator Erica Salcedo Lucy is a fixer
of broken things. But there's one thing she can't fix and that's
her unhappy mum. Until she comes up with an INCREDIBLE plan. Along
with her best friend, Sandesh, Lucy is going to SMASH a world
record. Because she's convinced that starry Paul Castellini -
Record Smashers TV host and singing legend - is the answer to her
mum's problems. But breaking a world RECORD when watermelons,
kumquats, two baddies and a 30 cm shatter-resistant school ruler
are involved isn't quite as easy as Lucy thought. Can she learn
that sometimes happiness doesn't come with a plan? "Breaks records
for funny and touching storytelling." David Baddiel "One of the
juiciest ideas for a story you've ever seen and super-miraculously
Jenny Pearson makes it every bit as funny and tender as it could
ever be." Frank Cottrell-Boyce
This is the first detailed account of the theory and practice of
the Sesame Method, which was created by Marian Lindkvist 30 years
ago, as it has evolved and been handed down experientially. It is
now taught at the Central School of Speech and Drama; many of the
contributors are current or former teachers at the school, or are
Sesame trained therapists working in the field. The book aims to
define the work of Sesame in terms of the theories upon which it is
based and the method which puts these theories to use in practice
in a variety of client groups. The reader is invited to enter
imaginatively into the experiences of body, movement, voice, myth
and ritual, and to be a witness as others explore this medium.
Experts in the field spell out the theoretical base of Sesame work
in its different aspects: in movement, drama, voice, myth ritual
and Jungian psychological theory. Finally the contributors describe
how they use the method through therapy sessions and workshops in
the community with various clients, from people with physical and
learning disabilities to children who have been abused and people
in prisons. As well as presenting an overview of Sesame, this book
will inspire readers to a rediscovery of the joys of
self-expression through dance, movement and drama, through the
transformative nature of the Sesame experience.
Myths and fairytales are our rich heritage; a veritable feast of
ancient wisdom passed down through the ages in the memorable form
of stories. While almost any story will have deep meaning to some
individuals, some of the time, this book presents a collection of
stories that these maestros of dramatherapy have found to have a
powerful effect almost without fail. These are the 'golden' stories
of Sesame. The authors introduce the Sesame approach and describe
the advantages of using myth and fairy tale as a central theme in a
therapy session. The Sesame approach has been found to produce
striking results with myriad client groups, including individuals
with learning difficulties, offenders in psychiatric settings and
children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and adults in
mental health care. Dramatherapy with Myth and Fairytale provides a
treasure trove of timeless stories that can be adapted and applied
to the needs of different client groups and the style of each
therapist. It also includes introductory exercises, warm-ups and
scene setting suggestions. The book will be an invaluable source of
inspiration for dramatherapists and dramatherapy students, creative
arts therapists, storytellers, psychotherapists, Jungian
psychoanalysts, teachers and play therapists.
